I picked up this Barkeep with the intention of adding the .22 magnum cylinder and a birdshead grip.

They'll probably offer it in this configuration eventually (if they don't already), but I didn't feel like waiting, and the accessories aren't expensive.

I've tried it with the original grip frame in both .22lr and .22 mag. It's a fun little plinker. Goes bang when it should, and shoots to the sights.

Sweet setup. I like the grips. My 3” Heritage has the faux MoP for that classy “Card Sharp” appeal.

I keep meaning to get a Barkeep and swapparoo the grips/frames but haven’t got the round toit yet.

I just picked up my Rough Rider and the Barkeep looks very interesting to me. Heritage guns may be inexpensive but they are a great way to have a lot of fun.

Mine works great so I'll probably end up having more. The RR is so much fun to shoot. I'd love to fire a Barkeep with .22 Mags. The sound should scare away anyone.

When I heard about the “Bar Keep” that’s the gun I imagined. Not the regular grip.
The birds head grip just (only) makes sense with the short barrel.
I’m rather fond of my 6” w/adjustable
I might buy one of the bar keeps with the birds head.

A pox on you for posting that. Now I want one and I know where four are at a fairly good price. Now I have to go the Heritage webpage and see what a grip frame and grips cost. Bummer.

All in jest but I'm serious about now having my very own and you are to blame. :D

If you buy the 3-1/2" with the Birdshead grips you can swap them and have a 3-1/2" with ejector and the Army-style grips AND the Barkeep with Birdshead grips.

Very nice spruce job! The birdshead really does the trick.

Hello All, New to the page. I also bought a new Barkeep. I got mag cylinder as well as bird head grips and of course bird head back strap. I, being me, lol, Messed up the grip screw so it would not feed into the insert. So, I used the other screw (incorrect) and made it work by taking out the bushings . Looked great, nice and tight. However, when i cocked it back and dropped the hammer, it didn't fire...... I thought bad bulk .22 ammo. grrr!! then not luck with great ammo. After cussing and kicking the wall, and this site. :) I finally figured out that the grips were tight on the main spring. Therefore, impeding the the speed and force of the hammer thus, no bang. I ordered a CORRECT grip screw AGAIN lol and re installed the grip..... Perfect. I love mine. I use mine for a daily carry and always when farming. Love it!! Also go the Holster for it. Love it!! upload_2021-7-23_16-14-15.jpeg

Not to disrupt the thread, but...

Does anyone have any history with any in 45LC or 357 Mag?

I own one, and posted my experience with it here: https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/heritage-big-bore.892122/. I will add that the Big Bore is conspicuously absent from the 2021 catalog, or at least I couldn't find it. Wonder if it's been discontinued?

I believe the frame is one of the Pietta parts.

That is correct. If I understand right, Heritage imports most all the parts, then finishes them in-house. They aren't too bad, honestly.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming... Really like what ya done with the Barkeep, @lowercase. I wouldn't mind having one of them myself, and I'm 22 poor!
