shooting rest

I have Rock Deluxe combo from Caldwell that comes with a rear bag. I ended up getting a taller Caldwell rear bag for more options. While it isn't the most fancy or best rest out there, it suits my needs.
Though sometimes I will use good old sand bags like we did in the military, those work too.

I use shims made from different thicknesses of scrap plywood with no-slip shelf liner glued to one side to get the correct bag height. My range has target boards set at three different heights so they get a lot of use.

Been there, done that. My rear bags are homemade, so when I put hole in mine when I use them up front and forget about the cylinder gap, I dump out the polymer pellets, sew a patch, refill, and Bob's your uncle.
I'm still using Caldwell front and rear bags, though the rear bunny ear bag has a gift tape bandaid cause my buddy accidentally used it as a front rest, and nestled my a2 flash hider in between the ears. Burned quite a nice 2 in hole in it. I picked up a new set but haven't filled the rear bag yet.
