Sweet! I like my 15-2... and it’s shiny cousin, a 67 no dash. Both shoot lights out for me DA at ten yds.

These, and their slick top 4” Model 10 and 64 K-frame cousins, are amazing tools for teaching shooting skills, protecting the house and all-around handgunning fun. Great choice!

Stay safe.

Now all you need is a Model 18 Combat Masterpiece in .22 LR,,,
Just so the Model 15 doesn't get lonely in the safe.

Like the OP said,,,
If these two were all I owned,,,
I would still feel that I was "well armed".

Yup you have a gem there, too . I love shooting my understudy!

I think the .22 LR Model 18 is a great training tool as well as a fantastic camp gun. So much so I literally just picked up a newer model 4” Model 48-7 .22 WMR that I haven’t even held yet... I can’t wait until Friday to run some rounds through it :).

Stay safe.

I think the .22 LR Model 18 is a great training tool as well as a fantastic camp gun.

The Model 14 through Model 19 S&W revolvers are a great series of revolvers providing flexibility in use, practice and training.

The Model 14's are the 6" and 8-3/8" 38 Special K-frames.

The Model 15's are the 4" and 2" 38 Special K-frames.

The Model 17's are the 22RF versions of the Model 14's.

The Model 18's are the 22 RF versions of the Model 15's although I do not think any 2" Model 18's were produced. I could be wrong here.

The Model 19's are the 2-1/2", 4" and 6" K-frames in 357 Magnum.

So, you can match a 22RF version of a center fire gun for economical practice.

The Model 66 (357 Magnum) and the Model 67 ( 38 Special) are the stainless versions but I am not sure what barrel lengths were produced for those Model numbers. 4" barrels for sure.

Thank you.
Green with envy here. :D
It’s aggravating waiting for bureaucracies wheels to turn. I hope your dealer is successful today.
LGS said it's ready to be picked up tomorrow afternoon(Wed. Aug 3rd). All the fine revolver photos here have made me anxious to get mine in hand. LGS opens at noon, I will be there at 12:01pm.

IMG_1827.JPG Picked up the 1965 15-2 today. IMG_1832 (2).JPG IMG_1836 (2).JPG IMG_1819 (2).JPG IMG_1822 (2).JPG Six hundred rounds surplus 30 cal carbine surplus ammo(1953 vintage) + $360 OTD & no transfer fee. I'm happy and the seller is too, so good all around. She looks great for a 56 yr old revolver. Obviously didn't see much use. Original diamond magna grips.

They must have gone back in a time machine to get that one for you. Congratulations
Thanks, I went into the LGS to sell, consign or trade the ammo my F-I-L left when he passed that had been gathering dust. While the store owner was mulling over what i wanted for the ammo I browsed and the 15-2 caught my eye. When I saw the condition I had to get it.

I own two carbines, but I’d have dumped the ammo for the Mod15.

My first issue revolver was a M15. Before the next shift, I’d installed a Grip adapter and loaded up some +P 158gr SWC ammo. I couldn’t even afford to buy any ammo. .

Next day after I qualified with the patrol captain on the indoor range. Shot a 500-50x on the old K5 target. Was shooting 148 wadcutters I’d loaded also. Started my “reputation” with that.
I’m VERY fond of the M14, M15, M17, M19.

GeoDudeFlorida, that's a very nice looking 15-2 for a good price(IMO) and look like the grips will number to the gun too. For $560 you can't even get a new revolver of that quality and it's a classic. You already know "need" has got nothing to do with it.:)But then again I don't have much will power when it comes to these things.
