What is your opinion and impressions of the 725 pro trap? I recently got into trap, courtesy of a neighbor, and my semi throws empties all over the range, which is a pain. Looking at the Browning trap models, this looks like a premium model.

Your thoughts?

In my opinion, the 725 trap with the adjustable comb looks better, and is $300 cheaper. It doesn't come with extended chokes but its not worth it to me to sacrifice its good looks while also spending more money in the end. I'm gonna buy one as soon as I get enough hours and I'll have the guy I work for pay me, I'm 14 so don't have a full time job but I only need 15 more hours. At one of my local rod and gun clubs, a guy has the same gun I want that he uses as a spare now that he let me shoot. I shot a 23 the first time shooting with it and the gun has no kick, and swings very smoothly and predictably. Very nice gun, all around.

Well, guys, I bought a regular used 725 trap (not the pro trap) off gunbroker. The first round of trap left me with a bruised cheek bone. The gun did not fit me. I had a local gun fitter fix the problem, and now I am loving the gun and shooting better.
I've been shooting a wingmaster all spring/summer and haven't once had any sore or bruised cheeks/shoulders. I spent the afternoon shooting a Perazzi MX10 yesterday, 5 rounds and I felt like I went 5 rouds with Ali. Ok maybe not that bad, but my cheek is definitely swollen right up and am pretty sore.

Definitely see why guys say "fit" is of the utmost importance.

If a gun doesn't fit you, then you can have an adjustable comb put on it for a few hundred bucks, then you customize the poi too. Just a thought, when you do make sure you check out the gunsmiths other work.

If anybody is considering an adjustable comb, or recoil device, Joe at Tronspace is excellent. I have seen his work, it is excellent. There are examples on the website, also.
The shop cat actually does all the work.;)

Around me in wny, Mark Deprez is the top guy, gets things done quick and has excellent work and some interesting knowledge. Great to talk to.

Actually, Pat Laib in Spicer, MN, is closer to me, I've sent quite a bit of work to Laib's shop from the shop I used to work at. I've seen plenty of his work also, all of it good.
