Just wanted to share my build with everyone.

I am pleased with how it came out.

580 series Ranch rifle
Samson ATM stock
Ruger optic rail
Holosun 403b red dot
Skinner light mount
Olight PL pro Valkyrie
Chote handguard
Accuracy systems flash hider
Just a simple build that works very well.

I had one of those rifles---the local cops called me one day " bring your mini 14-- to the station so we can measure it---they would not take ruger word for length.
I had sold the rifle & told them so---WOW--talk about mad---you think I had just done a mortal sin---whatever

Mine is all stock barrel length from Ruger. No problems here that i have ran into?

I was wondering if you bedded your stock? I have a Mini-14 in a Boyd's stock and I think there's some sloppiness in fit and resulting play that's affecting POI consistency. You know how the Mini-14 action is basically just held in by the trigger guard latch. So I was thinking of bedding the action in the stock to see if that helped. Or any other solution that comes to mind?

How would they even know you owned the Mini, much less question it's size? I could maybe understand them walking up and asking a question at a range. Did someone you know report it?

No i did not. it fit nice and snug with no slop that i could feel or see? still shoots just as good as factory stock.
The Samson stocks are a very high quality and tolerance.

Early on i had taken the rifle to police station to see if had to be registered as short barrel rifle or handgun.
They said no----someone changed their mind & decided to have another look. I had 22 handguns registered & I was not taking any chance of getting in to trouble

Basically the story is that when you came in to ask the question they tagged you as possessing it? Name, phone number, etc and kept it up to date?

All legally purchased handguns & rifles under about 30" have to be registered in MI. A 3 piece card is filled out when you purchase weapon
1 piece to police
1 piece to gun shop
1 piece to you
you don't like it---to bad
