Went to the range today to test some 10mm loads. Don't want to talk about them...

But, I did have an empty pop can in the rig, so filled it with water and shot it. Last time I did that, I had some cheap FMJ factory ammo. It was impressive.

This time I used some warm reloads with 180gr Hornady XTP hollowpoints.

It made me giggle like a little girl.

Now you see it...

I took a video of it...

nice. reminds me of one of the best homemade targets I saw one day at the range. This guy shows up with flats of water - the super cheap stuff. then he proceeded to put food coloring in them, and something like a mentos or one of those cheap wafer candies. he shakes up the bottles and puts them at various locations around the range. and they went up like cans of soda when shot. brightly colored ones at that. What impressed me was that he went back and picked up the shot ones.
Think he said he had less than 5c into each one so likely it was a costo run or something for all of it. that's pretty cheap for reactive targets in my book.

I like shooting out of date soda cans… shake them up till they’re ready to burst, aim a .22 rifle to hit low on the can… 3-2-1 Liftoff!

Use to do that too, until it started attracting too many bees and other assorted bugs!

Switched to old beer cans; problem solved!

IMHO only thing better than shooting well shaken, hot, carbonated beverage cans is shooting Tannerite (or one of their competitors).

Clay pigeons on the ground or propped up on a cardboard box.:)

Had alot of spare time in my HS years, so I used to build fairly accurate cardstock paper warship models complete with cardboard and balsa armor plating, rotating turrets, and various interior details-

Blowing them apart was AWESOME!

Haha, my dad (and I do not condone alcohol and firearms, never touch a gun or a drop of alcohol at the same time now that I'm grown) used to like to shoot my GI Joes and He Man toys when he had a few beers with his buddies with the .22.

I was all for it because it was fun to watch them explode and he'd give me a few bucks to get new ones from the corner store afterwards. So the ones I didn't like that much got blasted and cool new ones moved in, win win.

Amusing to think that I'd walk to that store at like 6 or 7, several miles down the country road, by myself or with my younger brother to load up on comic books and toys.

Different times, and not even that long ago.
