Favorite Striker Fired Pistol?

On person, I prefer and carry an XDSC .40 and a bug P365. Years ago I bought the XDSC (to replace my EDC P229 .40 on person carry) since it had the grip safety. I purchased the P365 earlier this year to replace my other bug. Since I carry the P365 in a pocket holster that has a hard trigger guard on both sides, a grip safety or any other safety is not needed in my situation.

Roth-Steyr M1907.

If your asking about about a poly striker gun? I would likely equate that to single ply toilet paper. Works yet far from a favorite thing to use.

If I was forced to pick a favorite in my safe (10 striker handguns). I guess I'd go with Kimber Evo. I cannot really pick some of my glocks that have virtually zero stock parts.

The only Striker handgun I’ve owned:
the DA/SA Walther P99 AS.

I bought this very ergonomic, striker-fired gun because it is designed to Decock into Double Action.

Most of you might really enjoy carryiing it in SA, with what they claim is an excellent trigger pull and reset. I never pay attention to any trigger reset or refined features except DA stacking and smoothness; my first carry gun was a Makarov in .380

I wanted to handle a “first” Steyr 9mm but nobody had any avail. On Armslist or in our stores about two years ago.

Easy One! Canik TP9SFX,
I have fired quite a few striker fired pistols but the best one out of the box I have shot is the Canik TP9SFX. Reset is minuscule. Also some great aftermarket stuff available too. I have fired several thousand rounds through it and don't remember even one hiccup.
Me 2!

I'm another in favor of the Canik TP9SFx. I've had several striker fired pistols but the Canik has the best trigger. Honest Outlaw rates it very highly and he's tested just about everything. It seems that the Canik trigger is a copy of a Walther (don't remember which model). I've not tried the Walther, but am very impressed with the TP9SFX. As said above, the reset is miniscule.

SR9c is my fav.. Sweet shooter, good in the hand, recoil very manageable. Paired with Ruger's laser attachment, it's my bedside gun. With the advent of the PC Carbine and PC Charger ( I own both) and the shared mag option, I'm actually currently looking for another SR9c to paie with the Charger in a bugout bag.

Oh, dude, that thing is like 3 times the size and 6 times the price of an FN 1900. Sure, 8mm Roth Steyr is a real wall-banger of a cartridge, but a lot of people just don't want to deal with the recoil. That's why it's fading out and 32 ACP is growing by leaps and bounds. And stripper clip loading? Please. Why not just get a Broomhandle and pretend you're Winston Churchill?

And that brings up another point: Real men aren't afraid of safety catches. I know that's not "PC" to say out loud, but it's not like we're a bunch of snowflakes here.

My favorite - XDM 45acp compact with a 3.8" barrel.
It is compact enough to carry and large enough to shoot well.

I would like to see Springfield make the compact in 10mm to compete with the Glock 29.

The Walther PPQ is my favorite. The large grip panels fit my hand well and it has excellent sights. The trigger is wonderful. If there's a duty pistol I can shoot slightly better than any of the others, it would be the PPQ.

The S&W M&P 45acp is my second favorite. Likewise with the large grip panels, and it has good sights and trigger, never malfunctions... etc. It's a nice pistol.

The Glocks are okay. I own several. I would feel comfortable with any of them for SD. To me the trigger is kinda "meh": It works okay for me, but I don't love it.

Kahr PM9--I carry it every day, and have for over ten years.
I liked it enough that I bought a P45, and eventually a CW380. Carry the P45 sometimes in the winter.

Owned a couple Glocks, an XD, LCP and so on, never bonded with any of them.

My favorite striker fired pistol is also my oldest...the H&K P7:
It is fully ambidextrous, accurate (fixed barrel), easy to disassembly and clean (1-button takedown), and the safest semiauto service pistol available (remains uncocked until ready to shoot, uncocks automatically if dropped)

If you meant polymer, that would be a S&W M&P9 with Apex Tactical action set and barrel. My easiest to shoot based on pointability and accuracy.

The current striker fired pistol I'm working into my battery is the SIG P320 base on the ability to switch between different length/sizes of slide and frames. It points almost as well as the M&P and might be a touch more accurate. It might not qualify as an answer for your question as I've recently added a tungsten infused grip module to it

Glock 19C with night sights. I have used Glocks of various types and calibers for years, in combat, for EDC, 3 gun, and as sidearms when hunting. The pistols has proven reliable and excellent in every way for my needs. I like the 19C because it feels like the familiar 19 with the advantage of compensation to minimize recoil in engagements where multiple rounds are fired. Yes, I have fired it in the dark- I don't fine the minimal 12 o'clock sparks out the top to be at all blinding or disorienting like a flash bang went off in my face at all.

My favorite is my Ruger sr45, followed closely by my M&P 40, 2.0. I own a tp9sfx, and while the trigger is as good as the other two, the overall accuracy of the pistol is shameful. Even from a rest, it's not near as accurate as my other pistols freehand. Shooting illustrated reviewed an 800$ canik elite and at 15 yards it was way less accurate than a cheap 300$ stoger was at 25 yards. I'll personally never buy another canik.

A member here made a comment in another thread a while back that gave me the idea for this thread. His comment was, "the S&W M&P is my favorite striker fired pistol." or something very similar. So my question is what is your favorite striker fired pistol & why. I am just as interested in why it is your favorite as I am in what is your favorite.
S&W M&P Shield I have 3 of them .45,9mm and .22

FN 1900. The design is just so ingenious! I mean, using the recoil spring to power the striker AND tossing a cocking indicator into the same system? That's John Browning for you.
I had to do a search to learn about this pistol. Interesting. Very innovative design.

I have always liked guns and have bought several over the years. I was lucky to work in the firearms section of a large State Crime Lab where I had access to just about every handgun that has been on the market since the 70’s.

The back wall of the gun vault is full of handguns. This included just about every striker fire gun made through the 90’s. New guns were being added all the time.
My job was shooting evidence guns for my department and matching them to shootings. In the seven years of working in the lab, I fired over 8,000 guns, which covered just about every striker fire handgun on the market.
I also own a variety of different striker fire handgun. And carried Glocks as duty weapons. Here are some of the striker fire handguns that I own, I’ve added a few more after this pic was taken.
I do like Glocks, have since the day I first shot one. When the M&P came out, I got to shoot a few that came through evidence. I wanted a new striker fire pistols chambered in 45 Auto at the time and found the M&P fit me better then others. I liked the fact that the slide was stainless steel and that S&W had spent approximately $40,000 in designing the grip frame. It feels really good in my hands. I later added a 9mm M&P and when the M2.0 came out, I bought the FDE model with the 5 inch barrel.

Out of the Glocks I really like my G45, even better then the 19X, but my favorite striker fire pistols is the M&P. It just has that better feel and I can shoot it a little better then my Glocks.

It was your comment a while back that made me start this thread. You own a lot more pistols than I likely ever will. While I like striker fired pistols, hammer fired pistols, revolvers, etc. I don't have the time & financial means to buy or rent everything that is out there so your comment piqued my curiosity.

This is yet another pistol I have neither handled or shot that I find myself intrigued by because it can be carried either S/A or DA/SA.
