Hello all. Few questions about the Dan Wesson 715 stainless:

1) is it still in production?
2) what's the overall quality?
3) how does the trigger compare to other better quality .357's (686, GP100, Python)?

Any info would help. Thanks!

Thanks guys! I have a bead on a 15-2 "pistol pack" from the mid-70's. Blue with 4 barrels. Advertised as "Monson Mass", whatever that means. Is this a quality model?
Yes... I have several Dan Wesson revolvers, all Monson guns.
My understanding is that the Monson guns are generally speaking the best of the Dan Wesson revolvers.

They’re my favorite.357 revolvers. I bought a model 15-2 Monson, Massachusetts made 2-4-6-8” VH pistol pack about 18 years ago and I’ve shot it plenty since then.

I added a second 15-2 frame and a 3” VH barrel/shroud from EWK arms about four years back when EWK still had them in stock. (Very hit and miss now.) The Hogue grip fits my hand well, but I’ll admit it’s a bit on the large size for this stubby barrel set. I think it looks better with a 6” or 8” on the frame.

I also added a Monson-made .22 LR 6” V about three years ago and picked up a 4” barrel/shroud from CZ. (These extra barrel sets may not be available anymore.)

My dream DW’s are a .41 and a .32 H&R… but they’re damn pricy now :(.

Like the guys said, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the pack. With easy barrel and grip swaps, and the options of length and shroud types that can be bought, it’s literally like buying several guns at once. ;)

Stay safe.

What’s the price on the pistol pack? Those are usually priced with the collector in mind…

I had a Monson 15-2. The trigger on it was OK and accuracy wasn’t anything special. It’s the only .357 I’ve ever sold. I’d take any of my Colt’s, S&W’s or even Rugers over a Dan Wesson.

I thought the newer models had been discontinued for at least 4 or 5 years…

Aren't all Dan Wesson Revolver owners, collectors?
Like you I believe the new series 715 is out of production, yet they appear to still be available here. https://danwessonfirearmstore.com/715-revolver/
As much as I covet one, just can't bring myself to pay 3X + what I paid for my most $ pre Kahr DW 715 Kit Gun to date.

For sheer silkimess of trigger, Id place the DW over most of my S&W's but below my medium-frame Colts. Ive always been a bit disappointed with the accuracy on my DW22, but my 15 is probably the most accurate centerfire revolver I own.

Everytime I let someone shoot it, they try to get me to sell it to them. ;)
