Are those grips from Altamont? I put some Altamonts on my Wrangler that look just like them :).

They make a nice addition to these rimfire plinkers .

Congrats on finally filling that hole in your collection with the HRR, I think you’ll enjoy it a lot. They are a fun shooter and a great buy, you can’t go wrong with that.

Stay safe.

Congratulations. They're good little guns. I've owned a couple of them over the years and they all did their jobs. I've got one now, about like the one you pictured, except yours has much nicer grips. I haven't fired it though, but like you I just wanted one.

Oh. And welcome aboard. Make yourself at home. Pull up a chair, and sit on the floor. But you gotta watch these guys. They'll twist your arm to get you to buy a gun. Most any gun. And one or two of them have been known to "emblish" a story shall we say. ;) I think you'll like it here.

Thanks for all the replies. I ordered the Altamont grips as well as a.22wmr cylinder from Heritage. Arrived in 3-4 days. I really didn't like the orange plywood grips it came with. I am very happy with the feel of this cowboy gun. Just got it at a gunshow last weekend. If I can't get to the range soon I may have a few accidental discharges in my back yard.

A rough rider is what got Mrs Canasta started down the path of becoming the great shooter she is today. She was with me people watching at a gun show & she mentioned she liked the flag grips on a HRR. I went back to the show the next day & picked it up for $120 & sent for the 22 mag cylinder for $20. While I was waiting for the magnum cylinder I made a nice box & gifted it to her on Valentines Day.

Now she’s got her concealed carry permit & bought herself an AR this year.

Wow! I'm totally not gonna steal that idea from you.

Gotta love the box.

I've got two of them, a 4.75" inch plowhandle and a 3.5" birdshead model. They're both nice little clickers in hand when they're empty, and fun little shooters when they're not. I replaced the smooth wood stocks on the BH model with some engraved ones that are a bit darker than I would have wanted.
