Hastings, Nebraska - the Heartland!
11th September 2021. Attended local gun show in Columbus, Nebraska. Able to see a number of acquaintances, get an idea of what's going on in the field and found a Carcano Carbine for my WW1 collection.
Saw primers, prices from 'pretty decent' to downright scalper. The pretty decent priced primers were gone first (Surprise?).

I enjoyed myself. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

I suppose to be fair, I was not expecting to find a AR or Kalashnikov at below 2018 price or something similar.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa.....primers in old boxes, probably people parting with some of their stash. Powder and components showing up again. No shortage of guns. Plenty of ammo in all calibers, prices are up. Looked like a lot of the pre-plastic and black gun collectors are starting to bring out their collections and put them up for sale. Overall it was a good show.

The show that all others will be judged by......
The Pomona show at the LA fairgrounds!
Over 20 yrs of fun! 8 bldgs of you name it....
Guns, knives, memorabilia, mounts, clothing, music, food, beer and on and on! County shut it down in '99, lost 600k of revenue.......

We have a gun show here in San Antonio every month but have not attended one in years. Normally go when I have family or friends visiting from out of town. Am thinking of going to one at the end of the month, I have an itch to buy a Beretta 84 or a Bersa Thunder Combat Plus. Still undecided whether I am willing to pay high dollar for one because of todays environment...

I remember the Pomona Gun Show. I attended it more than once. I attended the Great Western Gun Show prior to it being in Pomona.

I am still angry with Zev Yaroslavsky. Just another leftist drone following orders from the commissar.

Isn’t the October 2-3 San Antonio show cancelled?

Just looked up on Saxet, they are showing "New Venue Coming Soon."
Premiere is hosting a show in New Braunfels on 16 October. Premiere usually promotes good shows. And even if it's less-good, you have an excuse to go eat at the Gristmill to justify the trip. Or Alpine Haus if in a Teutonic mood.

Thanks for the heads up on the New Braunfels show. It’s only about an hour away. I’ll have to mark my calendar. Gun show and Gristmill the 16th!

It has been a while since I have eaten at the Gristmill and Alpine. I should go more frequently when I am in New Braunfels as I am a member of Dietz shooting range and it would be just a short trip from there.

The SAXET show off of Marbach has been on hiatus since June because the property owner gave the event center to his son who wants to make it into a furniture store. No new facility has been found yet. I've been driving to Corpus and the coastal bend every other weekend to work the small shows down there.

Wow, did not know this. I never really liked the Saxet show anyway since there were more tables selling jewelry, oil, and cookies. So have they stopped having the Saxet show now?

SAXET still has monthly gun shows in Corpus and McAllen but I talked to Todd the other day and he is still trying to negotiate a new venue in San Antonio. Crossing my fingers.
