Today would have been my old 1917 S&W. Havent had the old girl out in a while.
Its the mojave desert for me as a range, so long distance shots... I would grab my K98
J-Bar:
Those revolvers remind me of the old gangster / FBI movies, but also of a famous short scene:
"..in which case for You, I'd recommend a .38 Snub Nose......look a' dis...look a' dat...it's a beautiful little gun, nickel-plated...".

Probably one of the M1s ... maybe one of my M14 or FAL Variant builds. If your buddy called you right now to go shooting, but you could only grab one gun on your way out the door, what would it be?
Probably my HK P30 as it gives me pure pleasure shooting it.Just for fun......

Garands are a perennial range loaner favorite. I do insist on loading it for the shooter, however, unless they are very familiar with the gun.Oh man...this all kinda depends on factors of range particulars, whose gonna be there with us, level of range formality/control & etc. If Pistol, I'd grab my nifty little Ruger Wrangler single-action .22; bang-for-your-buck fun and EVERYONE on the range with you will want to try it out! The best 200 bucks any gun nut can spend now or ever unless they have a real-deal Colt New Frontier .22 Peacemaker in their stable already(!) If actual rifle distances were called for, like +100 yards...Today.... I would grab my "Bad Bitch" U.S. Caliber .30 M-1 (SA March 1944) which I keep a little dirty & always greased at all times so that I don't hesitate to take her out to shoot and let others shoot her. For many, even MOST of them...it will be their ONE TIME shooting an M-1 and they'll remember it always. And for a few...it will be their introduction to the 'cult of the M-1' and they'll be hooked and we'll have a chat about the CMP and soon after another M-1 Garand will find her 'forever home' just like a shelter puppy.
+1 on the loading!Garands are a perennial range loaner favorite. I do insist on loading it for the shooter, however, unless they are very familiar with the gun.
That '95 Winchester is breathtaking!Something I have yet to shoot. One of these I guess. Or maybe all of the above. It's pitiful I know.
Yeah, she's more pretty than any of the newer ones they are selling. It was a limited edition. When I saw it I was hoping it was a .405 but it's in ought six. Got her used. The owner only shot it four times.
