I love my new CZ Bren 2 but I have noticed it seems to have a fair bit of muzzle flip. Not really any recoil back into the shoulder, just vertical muzzle rise.

Im not usually a fan of muzzle brakes largely due to increased noise. So Im hoping there is a brake out there with perhaps little to no additional recoil reduction but will reduce muzzle climb.

Is there anything like this out there?

thank you

I should mention that I regularly shoot inside a very small room (out a window, but muzzle is inside). So when I said Id like to avoid extra noise, I really mean it!

Also, I said Brake but a compensator is fine as well (I confuse the two all the time).

thank you!

I think you'll find the CMT CFC is what you're looking for. If you go with the Strike Industries suggestion, use the Miller Comp. It's a much lighter JComp https://www.strikeindustries.com/catalog/product/view/id/1501/s/si-ar-mil/

I have the Odin Works comp on an AR in 223 and one on my 6.5 Grendel bolt gun they both work well and are very easy to install.
Now if I could remember the model name it would be great but it's the model that has a titanium sleeve that goes over the comp.

Perhaps the Odin Works Atlas 5?
I have an Atlas 9 on my Ruger PC Carbine. It tames muzzle rise on my gun. No idea how it would work on a 5.56 rifle.

@matt85 why not try a flash hider with a solid bottom to help with muzzle rise like a YHM Phantom? This helped on my ARs. It did reduce muzzle rise.
I bought the ones with the aggressive end cuts as they didn’t have the smooth ones available at the time. Noise stayed the same, or I didn’t notice a difference.

What you want is a suppressor. Contact @MachIVshooter. He can hook you up. I've heard good things about his suppressors. He did an endcap for me and it was a work of art.

If a suppressor isn't feasible, what you want is an inline compensator. It pushes the majority of the muzzle blast down range. The one I have first hand experience with is the BRT Covert Comp. It works really well.

That's the one.

Thanks all, lots of great options here!

That KAK Industry Compensator may be just what Im looking for!

I do have a Suppressor but I decided not to fit it to this rifle. The main point of this gun for me is its light weight and the Bren 2 is incredibly light for a piston 5.56! set up the way I like it with some HBI mods and a 3x24 ACOG it only weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces (unloaded w/ no mag).

As far as the Atlas comp goes I have it on a Howa mini action in 6.5 Grendel and the rifle doesn't move when fired. The AR I'll have to bring it to the range some more for an option.

Beware that if you are shooting inside a building the concussion will be... intense. There is really no getting away from that unless you get a suppressor

Have shot the Bren 2 many times in said small room in the back of my house (I shoot back yard targets from inside when the weather sucks). Concussion is certainly there but double hearing protection makes it not too bad. I just dont want to increase that concussion by installing a device on the end of the barrel with ports/slots pointed backwards.

A compensator will definitely increase it because it will reflect off the ceiling and back down toward you. You'll have to try it to see how bad it is.
