Not much action on "Where are Reloading Components Available"

Actually where most of my current supply came from. An auction buy below retail in the "before times" from the estate of someone who couldn't take them beyond the grave. Most everything in the lots I bought had stickers at inflated prices in packaging contemporary to the last panic.

I believe "Oops, you're too late" might be a better message.
 
I was able to pickup 1k of small rifle primers at Academy Sports. Priced at $59.99 k. The clerk offered me small pistol for the same price. They had cases of primers. I made an order from Midsouth on 9/20/21 for non components. Reloading dies, trimmer, sling, all in stock. I called today and was told that they haven’t gotten to my day of order yet. They expect that they should be able to fill my order by the end of the week, hopefully. I can’t see myself EVER ordering from that company again.
 
Midsouth isn't bad, they are just overwhelmed with orders, and can only kick out so many on a given day. Because they actually have things in stock to sell for a change, people... like you... are ordering. Supply and demand.

You go to any of the bigger online retailers... and very likely you will see a notice that shipping may be delayed.
 
I am seeing more and more power and bullets on the shelves at local gun shops. And on occasion primers.
Last week, my gun shop got in 1,000 bricks of Cheddite 209 primers, first time in 1 1/2 years. They sold for $50/brick and limit 1 brick per person. They sold out in 4 days.

They do seem to be slower at shipping than most that I deal with currently. Not sure why. Oh . . Covid, I forgot.

However, adding to your in-stock, stagnant order is painless and doesn't seem to affect the timeframes.
 
I do understand that times are different. Covid, extra people making orders, limited supplies and supply line limits are all valid reasons for delay. On or about the same day I placed orders from two other companies. Both were delivered in 7days or less. I placed two orders a week after the Midsouth order and both have been delivered. I wish I had the opportunity to pickup from the store but for now I will just use more dependable suppliers.
 
The nearest Academy to me is in Daytona - about a 3 hour drive one-way across the state. 6 hours in theme park and tourist traffic. No thanks. Locals are getting what they can - the ones who bother carrying reloading supplies - but I don't get out much to check the BP - it's in another county and is only an hour drive, so much closer. I'm really glad to see stock returning and the higher prices are a fact of life. Not too bad. I can pay more as long as stuff's available. It don't matter how cheap it is if nobody's got anything to sell.

Well . . you have me there. I understand why you're peeved. I ordered in-stock items on 9/25. I received an order confirmation the same day but crickets since then.

I'm not in a big hurry but sometimes it's hard to keep track of these things . . when you get old. :uhoh:

"6-8 weeks for delivery"

I bought my first set of scope mounts - ConeTrol™ projectionless rifle mounts - out of a magazine ad. It took them almost three months to arrive. Anticipation got the better of me and by the time they did arrive I was ready to give them away out of pure frustration. Glad I didn't - they really worked pretty well and for the price back then were a bargain. I don't even remember which scope or rifle I got them for.
 
Just made a pleasant discovery. A few days back, notice on the board showed Graf's in Mexico was selling primers. When I looked, they were gone, but what was left was price discovery. They didn't have primers of the type I'm looking for, but if they did, they are selling them for 5.3 cents each, vs. the 7.6 cents Midway is offering for the same thing. Since I"m close enough to both, and good for now, I'm going to keep an eye on Graf's. Another brick would last me years. A case would run me and all my kin a lifetime, and at that price difference, about 30% or 1 1/2 bricks out of 5 would be free. Good reason to stand pat for now.

Only if you're willing to risk the felony for importing without a license. Somebody on here or another reloading forum linked to a guy in WA who was busted at the border bringing primers into the US from Canada. He thought he was ok because they were made in the US...the door kickers didn't agree with his interpretation.
 
Sorry......Graf's is in Mexico, MO, which some might consider a 3rd world country, but still legal to transport in and out of.....for now.

Minor slip up on my part, as there are two Graf's in MO. The mail order place in Mexico, MO and an unrelated reloading store in St. Charles, MO, which was also Graf's, but now goes by the name of Full Circle Reloading. For some reason still felt the need to differentiate.
