Acme bullets

I've bout thousands of bullets from ACME. They have always worked well in my .38 revolvers and 9 mms using loads for light Steel Challenge on up to USPSA match loads.

Good company to do business with. I hope they still package them in the little wooded boxes.

I've given up shooting centerfire guns so I no longer deal with ACME but I liked them best. I could get a separate color or each combination I was testing.

I like acme
one good thing is if they let you add to cart and pay then they have your order ready to ship , some of the other places out there will take your money and ship your item 6 weeks later if you are lucky , acme doesn't do business like that , you pay they ship

Even though I cast a lot of my own and PC some, I still occasionaly purchasr some. Acme is normaly the first. Good product, fast shipping and I like the wooden boxes!

I have really enjoyed loading the 95 grain LRN Acme coated bullets in 380 acp. Good marketing with the wood boxes.

Wyle E. Coyote highly recommends ACME

I load their 95gr LRN powder coated in .357 Cowboy loads. 2.0 gr Trail Boss
The bullets are purple. My granddaughters love shooting them.
Same bullet with 6.5 gr Unique is FAST! and will put a coyote down before you can get the sights back target for that unneeded follow up shot.

I’ve only loaded 100 of them ( out of thousands of others) and the coating seemed inconsistent. YMMV

Can you tell me how you had to resize them. I'm also shooting a Tomcat.
The ACME measure to .3135 and the Berry's to .3125. I couldn't find any load info for the ACMEs and when I tried to use the same OAL as the Berry's the bullets wouldn't chamber as the ogive is very different. By this time I'd heard from Berry's that they were producing the 32ACps again so or ordered some. The Berry's have been working great in the Tomcat so I've set aside the ACMEs for now. I think that the Acme bullets are intended for the 32 H&R cowboy action loads.

Be careful with the ACME and Wiley Coyote remarks. There is a member that finds them offensive

I am very fond of ACME non-coated, traditional lubed bullets in my .357s (.38 spl loads). I find them accurate, reliable, accurate, consistent, accurate, did I mention accurate? I am not a fan of their coating. I tried them in 9mm and found them less of all the charachteristics I love in their .38 non coated. The coating was thick and "gloppy," and tended to shave occasionally on seating, leading to some leading of my bores in full house loads. Accuracy left much to be desired. I'm not a fan of coated bullets in general though, so take that for what it's worth.

Except the Mean Greenies (124gr. 9mm). The "coolness factor" and the fact that they're dirt cheap are big selling points for me. They aren't any more or less accurate than any other plasticine coated lead bullet in my experience, just cheap, easy to handle and I have good load data for all my 9mm pistols. I'm also not a "fan" of "coated" or thermoset polymer "bonded" bullets but we seem to be the minority opinion on that so, for now, the market is following the majority opinion - a.k.a. dollar. :)

Then again, I know more long-time reloaders who prefer soft, gooey lube to hard wax - my preference - on grooved bullets so, there is that.

I like coated or plated because most of my shooting is indoors. While I’ve shot hundreds of pounds of plain lead and I really do prefer their lower cost and simplicity, the clouds of lube smoke from plain lead bullets that are generated doesn’t make many friends in the lanes next to me. :(

Stay safe.

For .32 ACP, both the ACME and the MBC cast bullets may or may not run out of the box (might need resizing). Have you looked at Berry's plated 71 gr? They were recently in stock on Berry's website. I shoot a lot of those and they run in my Tomcat Covert, P32, and half a dozen euro .32s with no issues and very accurate.

My 9mm pistols really like the green 124 grain bullets. I haven’t tried the 30 caliber 135 grain flat nose further than 25 yards but they look promising. I had a problem with driving them too fast in a Marlin Micro-Groove barrel but that went away when I slowed them down. Both Acme and slower velocity were recommended by members here and I have not been disappointed.
