RIP bikerdoc

I only recently found out that Doc, was actually a DOC.
The man was a medic in the Army.
The man survived Hamburger Hill. (Read the book if you aren't familiar)
He was there.
Damn I hate it when we lose our true heroes.
These days everyone is a hero. Hell all you gotta do to be called a hero today is show up for work 5 days in a row.
Nope, it's all BS.
We've lost a bona fide HERO from our ranks.
From one vet to another, Rest in Peace Biker Doc. I hope to salute you on the other side.

Prayers to his family.

My Condolences to the family.
RIP.
One thing nice is that Docs, posts will still be here for everyone in the future, so he can go on helping people even thought he is no longer with us.
… Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.

This is Cyndi, Doc's wife. I can't begin to thank you all for everything you have done to help me. Doc thought the world of all of you and you guys always made his day. I am not very good at expressing what I feel but I hope the feeling comes through what I have said on here. By the way Thank you also Livelife for the candy and coffee. I was going nuts trying to figure out where it came from. Guess someone let you know I like coffee and chocolate. Although the chocolate will wait little while as I don't have much of an appetite right now. Anyone that is nearby is welcome to come to Al's celebration on Sunday the 10th. Would like to meet some of you. And Gunny it was so nice talking to you today. Take care of yourself.

I cannot help but wonder how many men are here today enjoying time with their grandchildren because of Doc.

I wish I could make the trip, Mam, but I will be there in spirit.

Doc was such a class act and reminded me so much of my Grandfather, who was probably the finest human being Ive ever known- and I know they both had great women next to them.

God Bless and keep you and your family!

It's very sad to hear this news. I wasn't fortunate enough to know bikerdoc but always enjoyed his posts. He was one of the members whom, when I read his posts, I trust what he said and have confidence to act on his advice and opinion.

My condolences to bikerdoc's family and friends.

Sad news. I haven't been here near as long as many others but I enjoyed his posts.

Its weird how we "get to know" people on the internet who we've never actually met in person.

I have prior obligations this weekend and that feels terrible to say being that I'm so close to where the COL is going to be. I will really try to fit in if I can.

Much love to DOC's family....

RIP Doc.

He was a great member here and I am sure in real life as well. I personally had a couple of good conversations with him on this forum and still have one saved in my PMs.

I never did make it down your way for that beer - hopefully in the next life brother.
Will

Ok, this one just sucks the life out of whats left of 2021.

Doc and I talked a ton off page- we had a lot of similar interests and issues, and this one just blows me away.

A dedicated patriot with the bona fides to prove it, a solid paramed in civvy life, wrangled the iron hourse like a rodeo champion- and shot like the best of us. Stare at the elephant ? He was a combat medic in "nam, and was at the HILL. This aint fair. It aint.

Thats how life works sometimes- G@d takes the best of us because he needs 'em, and someone here on terra firma needs to step up and take that place.

Anyone who EVER had the call of help answered, shattered as get out- and saw that face knew they were gonna be OK- and we should all be so lucky to find the same if we're ever in need.

Damn, This one hurts.

Hope g@d reuses that mold my friend- excelsior.

Cin, if you need anything- please reach out directly. There should be a bible of convo between doc and I in there somewhere, and I know he's hoping you like the chocolates- theres probably gonna be quite a few from everyone wh had the #'s.
