So I shelled out the coin in January and picked up the Gen 3 PA10.

My experience with PSA has been that the AKs leave much to be desired, and the AR-15s I have owned from them have been excellent. I have to say the AR10 has been excellent as well. My wife was not happy with the 2K we spent on the rifle, the scope, the magazines, and the ammunition at the time, but even she told me the other day "I'm glad you bought it". I'm getting roughly half dollar to Liberty dollar coin-sized groups and she's eaten everything I've fed her.

So take it for what it's worth, I'm happy with it.

I have one, and just put an 16" barrel on. Sorry to say I paid a considerably lower amount a little over a year ago ($600+20 transfer fee), but I did get the A2 front sight. Empty weight is 8.75lb.

Glad you guys got lucky. I absolutely detest PSA. For about a year we were getting 10-12 transferred through our shop each week because they were so cheap online. Without exaggerating, one in three got brought back in needing smithing work. I made good money off of them, but you can't believe how sick I was of seeing them, or having to put off customers with more interesting work because I had a pile of dud PSAs waiting. I've still got one sitting that needs its taper pins drilled out and the barrel's taper pin slots re-cut because PSA got them crooked. The rifle's front sight cants like an old Century AK.

Curious what year that was? I tended to buy my rifles during non-panic years, except the few guns I built last year and this AR10 but all have been solid.

I have a PA10 and it was a bumpy start but it’s good now. I havent shot it in a while though. I have about 100 rounds through it and found 3 hand loads that shoot under an inch at 100 yards during testing. Two need confirmation. I have the 20” barrel and it’s a heavy one.

The initial issue was it wouldn’t run. The gas block was either twisted or defective. No amount of adjustment would let it cycle. I took it to them and they fixed it. It also needed a new charging handle. It wore a shiny spot on the top of the inside of the upper receiver. It’s been perfectly reliable since I got it back, other than needing to adjust the gas block for different hand loads loads.

2019 and maybe Jan-Feb of 2020.

The 2016 PSA I have is fantastic, I bought another rifle in January of '19 and it's been reliable as well. And I shoot a lot.

I built 4 more ARs over the past 24 months and they run like tops and the AR10.

Do they make a lemon? Yes, often they do. But PSA produces well over half a million rifles annually far more than most of the other AR producers.

I detest their AKs, but I detest all American made Aks

I have a PSA AR upper I use with a CMMG .22 conversion bolt that is 100% and excellent. And when I run .223 through it, same thing. I bought it several years back during a Christmas sale for $99 with sights and a BCG.

And when I decided to finally take advantage of the (formerly) cheap steel 7.62*39 and didn’t want an AK, I went with the KS-47 and it too has been outstanding. Takes standard AK magazines

To be totally honest, the AR I’d grab if I had to defend my home would be my Daniels Defense or Sons of Liberty Gunworks, but the PSA gear I have has been trustworthy thus far.

I have also had very good results with my PSA's, large and small AR's.
I will continue to buy from PSA, they have all been a bargain.
I enjoy the FN CHF barrels greatly... and all the DC Machine barrels have been great shooters.

my gen 2 pa-10 runs fantastic, no problems at all. Best $650 I've spent on a gun in a long time. 1.5" 5 shot groups from blaster reloads using LC brass and pulled surplus projectiles, and is very reliable.

I couldn't have asked for more.

Well, I do wish it were lighter...a 20" heavy profile barrel, bipod, and 4-16x scope certainly doesn't help.

Mine is good also, bought about 5 years ago. Accurate, reliable, and heavy, 18” ss barrel.

There is an unacceptably large gap between upper and lower at rear. But the whole thing was under $600.

I may put a lightweight Faxon 18” on it.

I just put a 16" Ballistic advantage lightweight barrel. Its about 4oz heavier than the Faxom, but 1/2 the price.
Its also about 6oz lighter than the PSA.... not much weight, but totally different feel. I can comfortably aim the rifle without a sling now.

I put power steering fluid in the barrel nut, and froze it for 3 hours. THEN it took 170lbs force on a pipe wrench to loosen the barrel nut. Before freezing/lube, I put #250, and no movement. I wouldn't try again without oil and freezing. No loctight, just overtight.

I have had good luck with there ar15 build kits they shoot well .I have a question .I purchased a few years ago at x/mas sale a psa gen 2 ar10 lower will the new gen 3 uppers work with it? I do not want to order a gen 3 upper if it will not work with the gen2 lower ,thanx for the help.

I've had no problems with my two PA-10's. First one I bought from PSA is a 20" which I scoped. Heavy beast but shoots like a dream. The second one is an 18" that I put a Sig red dot on. It must be two pounds lighter but can still hit at 100 yards. I think I need a 16" one as well :)
