My first AR was an M&P15. It's now been remodeled twice. I've even changed the stock to a UBR since this was taken.

Then I put together a .300Blk.

Then last year I went nuts and built several more. An 18" 6.5Grendel.

A CMMG .22LR.

My "budget build", ha, ha, ha.

An unexpected favorite is this 10.5".

Then I got this silly little 7.5", which will probably get a longer barrel.

Nothing special here, just my "after dark varmint remedy", M&P with an X-sight and vertical grip-light-laser. 20210124_103118.jpg

I rejoined the AR-15 club today with a Sig M400 TREAD. (I had a Stag Arms 2T but I gave it to my oldest son). She’s sporting a Monstrum Alpha Series 1-4x24 FFP LPVO sight, Magpul angled fore grip, 45 deg flip up sights, and a Viking VTAC 2-point sling. 025E6863-501E-4740-9BAC-81EA48ACFD7F.jpeg CBCBEC26-5B76-4683-BE79-46D26E6B99CA.jpeg

The Sig TREAD I posted above joined my AR-10 build. It was my first one, so I went the “easy” route with some stock kits. It’s a DPMS Lower, Remington slick side upper, with an MLOCK hand guard, 16in Ballistic Advantage advantage barrel, an APA Little Bastard muzzle brake, CAA UPG 16 grip, Monstrum G3 1-6x24 FFP LPVO optic, and Viking VTAC 2-point sling.

Not something I’d go lugging around with me...but nice to have around the homestead. EB295D5D-1981-4779-926C-83FC6BC65422.jpeg 68826315-D8D0-442B-BA8A-4B2F70A68297.jpeg

Who makes the handguard?
Those were Surefire m73 *quad-rails*.

I found them to perform outstandingly and easy fits in place of the standard hand guards. When I found out they were ceasing production, I bought a passel of them and am glad that I did. They tighten right in, no wiggle or shimmy and a laser once set will not move off aim.

They just cost too much with all the half-assed and import crap they had to contend with. Their inherent quality is shown by how much they cost on the secondary market while the import crap that doomed them is being compressed in land fills.:cuss:

Oh of course it's out of production :fire:. Those have the nicest profile pic rails I have seen, they look as if they don't even need panels or inserts. I'm going to have to get over it. I would pay the premium but it sounds like they are gonna be a premium on top of premium situation.

Nice setup though. I always liked the quad and probably always will....

Springfield Saint chambered in 5.56. My first AR. BCM carry handle and charging handle and foregrip. Midwest Industries 2 piece free float rail, and Streamlight TLR RM2 on a Haley Strategic offset mount. Kinda "Done" with this one, although I'm debating shaping out to a scout style light or a Cloud Defensive OWL.

The other is my newest, BCM lower and BCM 16"upper with a 15" MCMR handgaurd. Ambidextrous charging handle, foregrip. Halosun HS510C. Debating on what light to put on it, I've always used Streamlight for both WML and general purpose and never had issues but the internet got me thinking I need something "Better" like a Surefire scout or Cloud Defensive owl. Also debating on what Iron sights to throw on er, back and forth between Daniel defense and Midwest fixed sights/flip ups. Also debating throwing a fixed front and a charging handle on their. Contacts don't do jack for my astigmatism so I'm ordering glasses shortly. That maay sway me into keeping some sort of glass on their. But I do loooove me a charging handle.

ARs to me are like Harleys, infinitely customizable and Money pits. But damn do I love them so! Tho both took me a while to really warm up to.

Both the guitar and AR make beautiful music together ... but not at the same time!

Foxtrotmike 16” upper on PSA lower with Stern defense Magazine block. Started on an Anderson lower running converted Pmags, ran perfectly for 600 rounds. Every weight, every profile, hollow points, flat nose, fmj.

I said “entirely unacceptable” and proceeded to burn ammo chasing a good running Glock mag setup. Sylvan arms block ran for one session 99% except for certain hollow points and then crapped the bed. Chipped metal on ejector face. I junked it and put the stern block on. Seems to be doing much better after some
tweaking. Built in feed ramp and LRBHo mechanism make a big difference.

I’m taking it out with about 200 rounds worth of Glock mags Friday with fingers crossed I’m going to finally get reliable ejection.

I just want a reliable Glock pattern 9mm range AR and all completely interchangeable 556 lowers in my safe and I’ll be happy.

But the Endomags are a solid option so I’m keeping them in my parts bin as a backup method to run 9 through the gun if the Stern ever malfunctions.
