5 Reasons Some Shouldn't Buy a Glock

That aught to get some juices flowing........ First off I think Glocks are very reliable and accurate pistols as does the Honest Outlaw. Unlike him I own none because of the first why not he lists, the grip, to me it feels like I'm holding a 2x4 with a barrel attached to it. What he's referring to in this video are many modern firearms have taken the Glock tech and improved upon it, I actually have one in the SAR 9, basically an enhanced Glock upper on a VP9 grip.
So for all you Glock fans out there he (and I) are not knocking Glocks simply stating there are now alternatives that might suit some people better.

 
I have a lot of the same opinions. Glocks are amazingly simple and reliable. Have owned a couple. But, I don't enjoy them. Plenty of other options that suit some people better.

Yep. Which model? Which grip backstrap? There are dozens of different sizes and shapes of Glock grips available. So if someone says ALL Glock grips feel like a brick, then it's a mental issue.
 
I have to agree that the Glock grip feels like a 2x4 (22 and 21, my duty guns)...and that is not in my head. The grip of a BHP, 1911, or a S&W Model 39 feel so much better. Carried Glocks on duty for decades; they are good, but not better than many other options. They are certainly not "Perfection." I have seen recoil spring guide rods snap, locking blocks shear, sights fall off, pins break or fall out, etc. They are machines....groundbreaking when first released, but not anymore.
 
A lot of good points covered. Except #2. I have never really cared how a firearm looks as long as it works and works for me. I have owned Glocks and I have shot a lot of rounds through Glocks. But I am not a fan. I did not drink the Kool-aid to the degree some people have. This video is gonna ruffle some feathers on here.
 
I like the grip and stock sights on the gen 3 and 4 Glocks. I’ve gotten pretty good with the stock trigger. Mine never shoot low or left either.

When I try other guns I actually get annoyed at the overly curvy, overly ergonomic grips. Feels weird to me.
 
The 43x / 48 grip is very slim and nice - not blocky at all. The gen 5 19 I recently bought surprised me - when I first handled a gen 3 way back when I thought it was thick and blocky and didn't buy it. Roll forward 12 years, the gen 5 felt nicer in my hand. Gen 5 manual says, "
Without a backstrap attached, the Gen4, Gen5 and Crossover models have the same frame circumference as the SF models"

Nope, definitely a tactile issue regardless of which Gen I've held. Unless you think everyone's hands are exactly like yours.......

Yeah, I've never thought they were ugly. I've handled every Glock Gen that's been released cause I've always wanted one but nope.
Oh and it looks like a couple of Glock fanboi feathers have already been ruffled, God forbid anyone have ANY issue whatsoever with Glocks........ :rofl:

Not sure who you are asking...I have hands "small" enough to palm a basketball, if that is what you are asking. And 1911 grips suit me to a "T", so it is a personal preference. I prefer N-Frame revolvers as well, with square butt configurations for my itty bitty mitts (size 11 gloves).
 
I never cared for videos which pitted one gun owner against another. I can think of quite a few more productive things a person can do with their time. I own Glocks but don't carry or shoot them often as I have other guns which I prefer, so I'm not a fan boy. Glocks are excellent guns, as are the guns manufactured by many other companies. If a Glock is best for you, buy it. If something else is, that's great as well. This is not a one size fits all industry, nor should it be.
 
There have always been options. There are now more than ever. Find something you like and it really doesn't matter whose brand is on the side. Some folks like to tease, and some are quick to take offense. I don't get the need to tweak fellow shooters, but it's life as we know it.

If you haven't read Glock: the rise of America's gun I will recommend it. Well written by someone who didn't have a dog in the hunt.

No, it wasn't my goal, anyone who can look at something without thinking that thing is being attacked would know that.

This was not an attempt to tweak anyone's nose, it was to show some there are alternatives if Glock doesn't work for them. Unfortunately some take offense even if you say the sky is blue.......

To clarify, I was referring to the video, not to a fellow Highroader. :D
 
In all honesty I've never owned a Glock. I have shot a few here & there. Of his 5 reasons the only one that would deter me if I were considering purchasing one is the negative customer service experience he had. It doesn't really matter to me as I don't really want a Glock anyway. I do find myself interested in the PSA Dagger though.
