Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Oct 7, 2021, I ordered a Winchester 1886 lever gun chambered in 45-90. I have a Winchester “sharps” in the same caliber. I ordered the same lever gun from the same distributor, Cabella’s, in August. The same day I got an acknowledgement of my order. The next day, a new email informed me that they were processing my order. The following day their emailed popped my balloon by cancelling my order due to “out of stock.” The same order of events was playing out on my October order, but in addition to “we are working on your order,” a subsequent email informed me it was shipping from Idaho and should arrive in 3-5 days!!! I must still be background checked and wait 10 days in the brilliant state of Washington and I may die before I buy/reload ammo for it, but I can’t get the big grin off my face. Then I looked on E-bay for a stock butt ammo pouch (had to be all natural materials) no Velcro/elastic/zippers Tyvm for me and watched what I wanted sell out before I could complete my order. It was hand made by an Australian company, OP Original People, and I will haunt this site daily until that sleeve is back in stock. Expect pix when this project all comes together but the discerning viewers will notice the ammo is faked. I’ve had 45-90 brass on back order from starline since July and ditto 45-90 ammo in any bullet, HBP or smokeless, cowboy or modern loads as well. Just today I checked a dozen sites for large rifle primers, riiiight, and dont get me started on dies. Got a single-turret RCBS set up which may never see this caliber if my luck doesn’t change! Thanks so much for staying with me in this long-winded brag/whine. So here’s the prayer: know any one with 45-90 dies? I’d offer myself for various crimes in partial payment but I’d be bluffing cuz I’m too old for that. This is a great thread. See you again, soon I hope.

Just arrived. Looks like a perfect fit I a 28" 870 barrel. Now to find some strong double sided tape. Auto parts store, here I come.

Plans for a flintlock trade gun, a mushroom button for the ramrod and a ramrod. Never noticed it but the ramrod was tapered and had a hole in the end for the tow. Today I visited the museum and took the plans to compare it with an original. Note, each maker made it slightly differently.

Via midway free shipping.

50 rounds of Fiochi 9, plus 40 rnd pmag and 33 rnd Glock mag for my spare pile. Last high capacity mag purchases I believe I’ll need to make for quite awhile. I could have totally done without the 40, really wanted the Glock mag and the 9mm but you have to buy a certain amount for them to cover shipping.

Picked up a S&W pre model 30 flat latch and a S&W 1917 Brazilian Contract. Also grabbed a Spanish copy of a S&W, in 38 LC, on the cheap. I'll need to check it out further to ensure it's not pot metal if I intend to fire it, though I suspect mild loads will pose no issues.

I couldn’t resist the Midway deal on my favorite Acog model - TA11 3.5x with a .308 green chevron.

I ordered 500 Xtreme 158gr RNFP bullets which should arrive today so I can afford to continue shooting without paying rediculous prices for 357/38 ammo.

I bought a 2 1/2 inch barrel & shroud from CZ USA for a DW Model 15-2 yesterday. I've been itching for another revolver so I took the cheaper way out giving me a snub option for the DW. EDIT: CZ and Fed Ex did a great job delivering the DW barrel today. Can't wait to try it out at the range. IMG_1991.JPG

Really big purchase, a HKS speed loader in 22-J for my Smith 63 which I'm detailing the correction of Bangor-Punta crappy manufacturing in the seventies. $9.75

A few boxes of 7.62X51 from the local Wal-Mart. Odd since their gun department is basically non-existent here. Because NM passed a law for transfers on all sales Wal-Mart quit selling guns so no one would bring one in for a transfer (they said they did not want to train their people to do it! More likely they could not train them even if management could figure it out). Consequently they no longer sell guns and very little ammo.

Yup.

4 piece$ of Lyman super-moly bullet lube. (Gotta go on a different route here as that could add almost a penny to the price of lubersizing a bullet!! LOL)
2 Lee universal de-priming pins (just in case, you know. )
Another barrel bushing wrench. (Needed another in the shop so I am not chasing another down)
A Lyman sizing die @.452 with the Lee six cavity 452-255-RF mold. (Dummy* forgot to order handles!)
2 boxes of fifty Hornady FTX 325 grain bullets for son's 45-70 load work-up along with a Hornady seater stem for those said bullets.

* That would be me............:(

Use care
out there!

B.L.
