How does Lucas clp come pare to break free clp ?
I have been seeing Lucas gun products at my favorite gun stores for a while now

I think think the oil was green unless the bottle is tinted green
They have a clp a oil and a grease
All three in a kit

Shooter’s Choice FP-10 CLP, by smell, was what my BIL identified as his go-to when he was a SEAL. That cinched it for me in a most unscientific but reassuring way. I’m sure there are several very close in formulation but it has a distinct odor and while it may not be the end-all be-all it’s worked for decades.

Im sure Lucas is eager to develop new markets considering what shooters spend on oz of oil so no surprise it’s available, and I don’t doubt it works fine, but I wouldn’t pay a premium.

Cleaning at home, I don't need combination products, I clean with M-Pro 7, lube with whatever oil and grease fall readily to hand, and if I want more protection than an oily cloth, apply Corrosion X.

My only Lucas product is a sampler of their oil which is good for my Colt Ace .22 floating chamber.

If you mean that red Lucas gun oil, I tried it and didn't care for it. It was too thin and crept too much.

I tried the regular Lucas gun oil that looks like 3in1, and it wasn't bad but wasn't worth any extra over 3in1.

I am using it. I used to use BreakFree, but on Amazon Lucas was less expensive. So I tried it. When you squeeze some out. It. It a bluish green color. Once applied you cannot see that. In have been using it for a few month.s . It does what CLP is supposed to do. I will buy it again because I (Scrooge) like to save money.

I use the extreme duty gun oil. Works good. Able to put drops in precise locations. Seems to last for a while. No complaints from me. Havnt used any of the others yet.

I can't tell that it's any better or any worse than any other CLP. I do like the fact that it is low odor and that it comes in a bottle with a very nice dispensing needle.

I use that as well as the spray can of CLP works as well as anything I can get here. It's also noticeably cheaper than most of what I can get off the shelf here.

I use Lucas products for my truck, but I agree with Skylerbone here; I'm sure they are as fine products as their automotive ones are, but I'm not shelling out the $ for the name. I still have plenty of bottles of various lubes from years of trying different ones, dealer samples from working in gun shops, and from SWMBO who buys cleaning kits for me when she finds them at garage sales, which also has yielded a small collection of older oil/solvent cans.

I've been using it for about 6 months and am pleased with how well it works without heavy odors, like Hoppes #9, But I still use grease on a couple semis and Hoppes oil on my others for lubrication....old habits die hard & one at a time

I got a bottle of the greenish Lucas gun oil somewhere. I like it, it’s thick enough to not completely run out when it gets piping hot down here and so far I haven’t had a lubrication related issue using it.

I have no idea if it’s any better than any other stuff, but I’ll keep using it.

Stay safe.

I had a tube of the oil, and thought I had bought the CLP as well. I just looked and it is Amzoil cleaner and protectant. I was looking for an alternative to Hoppes for a quick cleanup. I keep going back though.... old habits.
