It took me 10 months but I finally found the perfect load for my REM 700 in 300 Win Mag. It definitely did not like the light bullets I started with. Today I loaded Hornady 220 Interlocks on top of 70 grains of Hogdon 4831sc seated to an OAL of 3.34. Group size of 3 rounds was 0.38 (yeah I know why only 3, ****s expensive these days). ES was only 10 FPS. Might try seating them deeper. Advertised MV was 2700 in my loading manual. What do you guys think? I live in PA and I won’t we taking shots now game past 200 yards, if that.

Yeah, I would leave that alone I think. Could get a tiny bit better but for PA I think you're in great shape.

I enjoy loading but don't enjoy going after that last few % as it takes a lot of time and components to squeeze out that last bit. Diminishing returns.

Yeah, especially when the biggest factor is the one on the trigger.

I'm sure it'll kill deer, or most anything else on the planet. But recoil is going to be brutal, a bit over 35 ft lbs from an 8 lb rifle. That is double 308 recoil and about 15 ft lbs more than 30-06. This close to opening day I'd use the load I had. But during the offseason I'd find a load with something in the 165-180 gr range. If you get an opportunity to hunt Alaskan brown bear you have your load.
