Most Accurate Ammo in Your 15-22

I have two, a rifle and a pistol, and both seem to shoot anything Ive put in them well. I havent really tried to shoot any kind of serious groups with them, but the seem to shoot where Im looking anyway.

I have irons and a Romeo5 on one, and just the Romeo5 on the other. Seem to shoot well with either.

Most of the ammo Ive used has been CCI Blazers, as its what I have the most of on hand. Ive also shot CCI Mini Mags, AR Tactical, Stingers, and Winchester Super X, and they all seemed to shoot about the same, but other than the initial zeroing with Blazers, all other shooting was offhand at various distances.

Mine seems to be plenty happy with Federal Automatch

I shoot more Federal Automatch than anything else in my Semi-Auto. It usually holds under 1.5" at 50 yards. Better target ammo will hold under 3/4" at that distance.

You should try other ammo brands/types, but shoot a couple of hundred rounds through it before you get too concerned.

I read a test of that kind of rifle and it was grouping as-expected from a semi-auto. Put a few hundred rounds through it before you get too concerned. I'd say that 1 1/4" groups at 50 yards with cheap ammo might be acceptable to most shooters of that type rifle.

Mine likes anything except federal, especially the automatch. the best groups were with cci standard velocity.

I mainly shoot CCI AR Tactical in my autoloading .22 LRs right now because it's what I've got. I bought several boxes back when Dick's had them on sale (and when I still did business with them.) I've only put a few hundred rounds through my 15-22 so far, but it has yet to choke or FTF with this CCI stuff.



These days rimfire ammo is still in very short supply locally. I'm working through my stockpile of older stuff, which is probably adequate for the rest of my life.

Regardless of the rifle I find CCI Mini mags to be a good compromise between accuracy and price. Some rifles prefer the 40 gr RN bullets, others like the 36 gr HP bullets but I've not found a 22 that shot them poorly.

I can get cheaper ammo, but I prefer to hit what I'm shooting at. And while the more expensive target loads are a bit more accurate, not enough so to justify the cost.

CCI SV is a great practice ammo in all my rifles. Others that do well are Federal Automatch, Norma Tac 22 and Wolf. For serious Matches I shoot Lapua, Tenex and other Eley ammo is always very good. Try several until you find one your gun likes at a price you don't mind spending. There are others that do well but I can't remeber offhand.

I have had no issues whatsoever with my 15-22. It's eaten everything I've fed it and is plenty accurate enough for me.

Mine is more accurate than that with anything. Usually within 1/2" at 25 yards, sometimes all touching..4X scope. Something is wrong with the rifle if you can't shoot 12 MOA at 25 yards.

I don't know about any of the current production Remington 22LR ammo... but anything older then a year ago, is suspect.

Remington 22LR ammo from that earlier time frame was poop.

I would try as many different brands as you can find... and like mentioned, allow for some seasoning of the barrel.

I shoot a .75 caliber out of my Brown Bess. It's good out to a couple of yards...........

I haven't tried to shoot groups out of my 15-22 yet and currently I'm using just plinking ammo.
