Have you ever shipped a firearm to sell?

If you use USPS money order as payment and take that m.o. to your bank to cash it , you probably be told that they will process it for deposit only.
That may not be an issue for you , but it's good to know ahead of time.
PayPal is a definite no-go for me. I have always used bank money orders or cashiers' check. No problem.

Several posters have said that shipping hassle and expense aren't worth it for a relatively low level transaction ... If you have a buyer for your item and that buyer is willing to cover shipping , then SELL.

Local shippers can be a pain and even if their company has rules some employees make up their own. Some FFLs will not accept from an individual. Waiting for money and getting people to pay like they say can be a pain. Some deals go smooth others do not. I have gone to the consignment route and I have been very happy with what I get. Yeah he gets a cut but I don't have to deal with shipping, auction sites, tire kickers or non paying bidders. I have also become very good friends with my local shop. I get discounts on new purchases and If their is something I am looking for they will let me know when one comes in or is available. I also leave money on account for when I buy something new I don't have to pay tax since the tax was paid on that money already. ymmv
