Just got the bug. Picked up a 6.5 Grendel #2 upper from BCR. I'm looking for a once fired or new 6.5 Grendel brass. Anything out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
Charly

I do want one day to get into the Grendel. Look up about converting 7.62x39 brass in 6.5 Grendel.

I tried a few this weekend; PPU 7.62 brass sized well in my Lee 6.5 Grendel die and shot well. Takes a little force and I'd recommend you lube the necks.

I've got plenty of 7.62x39 brass and Lee 6.5 reloading dies. I was under the impression that 7.62x39 hac to be fireformed. Taking into the cost of primers , powder, and bullets it doesn't seem cost effective. That is why I am looking for legit brass. I will go the 7.62 x 39 if I can't find brass.

It does. There is a LOT of body taper to an x39. See here. X39 on the left, Grendel on the right, x39 loaded in a Grendel die set in the middle.

Also, a lot of x39 is large primer.

Look around here https://www.65grendel.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?11-6-5-Grendel-Buy-Sell-or-Trade it's a good bunch of guys. >>>>The 6mm arc would be a better case to use to make a Grendel. <<<< edit: WRONG

You used to be able to buy an ammo box of American Gunner Grendel for like $140 for 200 cases. It's go e up now, but you'll pay nearly 50 cents a pop for once fired. https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting...el-123gr-bthp-rifle-ammo-200-rounds/p/1487339

Not saying It's impossible, but there is a significant amount of trimming involved in converting grendel to 6mm arc, I don't think it works going from arc to grendel. 6mm arc brass seems far more scarce anyway

Keep an eye on starline. They sell direct. It’s showing out of stock right now, but once they show it on back order it will often ship fairly quickly if u place an order.

I didn't know it was shorter. I just had a local guy telling me how excited he was that his buddy left 100 pieces of 6mm arc on the ground and he was going to neck it up into grendel. he generally knows what he is talking about, so oops. arc is .025 shorter.
