Hello, I’m currently starting up a 6mm ARC build and am trying to decide on a upper/lower combo that will pair well with this long(ish) range build. From what I’ve read im currently leaning towards the zev billet receiver set because it seems like it has some tight tolerances all the way around. But wanted to see if anyone has any experience with them, or any recommendations like SLR or any other brand? Thanks for comments. Im putting good money into this and want to get it right the first time!

Which one do you think is prettier?;)
I like the SLR, between the two, because pretty.:)

Now, more importantly, what barrel and bolt are you putting in it?

I'd probably use a slightly longer barrel for a long(ish) range build, but they're high quality parts.

I like around 18-20" barrels unless handiness is a consideration.
I’m keeping it at the 16” mainly cause I’m pairing it with my CGS Hyperion suppressor and that adds about 9” of length. It’ll be a hunting/target gun so I just don’t wanna hike around the woods with something too long ya know haha so save an inch or two where I can :)

I have a friend that is building a 6ARC and is using a 18" barrel after researching the differences, I found with the 6.5 Grendel that there is a noticeable difference between 24" and 20" accuracy at 600 and 800yrds, he is using a upper from BCA on a Aero lower with a Faxon barrel from Brownels and making his brass from once fired Hornaday 6.5 Grendel.

When we were shooting steel at 600 and 800 yards I found it easier to ring with my 24" AR than his 20" and he has better optics, he thought the same. We tried each others loads and that didn't seem to matter. While at Talladega shooting 600 they were about equal but at the farm shooting steel mine shot better, there were 4 shooters and I don't remember anyone missing with mine (over 100 rnds).
