I love to shoot this old 1887 girl, but my right eye has aged out and no longer up to the task.
I want to be able to continue hunting with this old rifle, but I don’t want to d&t the receiver.
Any ideas?

If your left eye is still good learn to shot left handed.
I can and have shot lever left handed, but it ain’t natural. “It ain’t natural, no it just aint natural”
No, I never saw a scoped 1873 either, but then I ain’t but 71, so there’s still time ——-I hope!
Like Gus said, “You ain’t too stupid to learn are you?” No I ain’t, but it’s awful hard to teach a plow mule to turn left after 15 years of doing it his way——to the right!

...my right eye has aged out and no longer up to the task...

I'm moving into that territory with my eyes. I'm 67 and had LASEK (yes correct spelling for my particular surgery) in 2002. Worked wonders then for nearsightedness. I improved to 20/15 in both eyes and it did well for years, but the age related cataract thing has crept in. It boils down to deciding when enough is enough according to the surgeon. Meanwhile I have found that peeps help, but prescription glasses set up for seeing the sights helps far more. Find an eye doctor that is simpathetic to shooters.
