Nitride or hard chrome. Nitride would look sort of similar to original finish.

Cerakote will be a tough finish that is easy to apply. If it's the LW aluminum one, you could anodize it.

Cerakote looks good when new but my experience is that it wears much faster and easier than hard chrome or nitride, the two bonded finishes I know about. These will last longer and protect better. But they are more expensive and don't offer color choices.

Maybe checkout mahovskysmetalife.com for some info on hard chrome plating. I think long guns go for about $170 or $175 last time I looked.

I had my Beretta Model 70S done by them over 34 years ago and even after constant use over all those years, it still looks as good as new!
