I have a old Ithaca 37 shotgun that the receiver has turned almost silver believe it was black. .What is best toughest finish for it.?

Cerakote looks good when new but my experience is that it wears much faster and easier than hard chrome or nitride, the two bonded finishes I know about. These will last longer and protect better. But they are more expensive and don't offer color choices.

Maybe checkout mahovskysmetalife.com for some info on hard chrome plating. I think long guns go for about $170 or $175 last time I looked.

I had my Beretta Model 70S done by them over 34 years ago and even after constant use over all those years, it still looks as good as new!
