WWB 115 9mm FMJ light strikes in Beretta 92?

Shot my new HK USP Elite 9mm with 124 gr WWB on Wednesday. Had 1 FTF. Primer was dented & didn't go off. Ran it through the next mag & it fired. Cheap ammo is cheap.

Glad it works now. But....

You probably should have used gun scrubber instead of CLP in the firing pin channel.. Using all that CLP will attract garbage from the ammo (as it is fired) and could possibly gum up the works in the firing pin again in the future.

Also, that much oil will ooze back out the firing pin hole and get all over your carry ammo - possibly deactivating the primer in the round you leave in the chamber (assuming you leave it loaded)
It’s a range gun only but I’ll keep an eye on it and use gun scrubber next time if it happens again.

I actually had an ex-LEO Beretta 92 that was otherwise clean with a gummed-up FP channel that wouldnt fire- no contact with the primer at all!
Disassembly was a pain too, since it was difficult to over-rotate the safety lever while trying to force the pin forward through the goop.
Eventually got it apart, scrubbed the bejeezus out of the pin and channel and viola, no more problems.
Kinda scary a cop might have been carrying it like that for some time and not even known there was a problem......

Coincidentally, but probably unrelated, that was the same gun that broke its barrel lug two range trips later!

That was some years ago and its never hiccuped since those freakish incidents.

My only gun that had a firing pin clogging issue is the one in my avatar. Due to it's age, I had already ordered a firing pin, but that wasn't the problem.
It was loaded with some sort of lube that was mixed about 50/50 with aluminum particles ( alum ammo shot by a previous owner?) and I had a hell of a time getting the firing pin out. Took seconds on my almost identical gun, but the holding plate was sort of stuck in place with the gunk and refused to come out for about 25 minutes. A soaking in CLP and letting it sit for a while finally let me get it off. Since I cleaned it, it hasn't missed a beat, even shooting WWB and other cheap ammo.
