I've been wanting adjustable sights on an 1858 for a long while, but had wanted to get the 12 inch long barrel "Buffalo" model in steel frame. Those have been exceptionally hard to find for almost 2 years now and I'm giving up hope. The alternative is the 8 inch barrel NMA's with adjustable sights are readily available and I can get one now for $300.
The major issue with the steel frame Buffalo has been few retailers sold them, last one I knew that had them was Old South Firearms around $375. I'm willing to bet if they ever do return they'll be over $400...
Is it time for me to cave and get the 8 inch or should I hold out some hope the steel frame Buffalo's will be back next year?
