I'm looking at optics for my [hopefully] soon to arrive T02.

I've got a Pinty dot sight on my AR (mostly favorably reviewed). In limited useage, I've had zero issues with it, but given the much greater recoil of the shotgun, I'm wondering if that model would hold up.

I'm willing to spend more, but I'm not going to spend $600 on an optic for a $260 shotgun.

The firearm will have one use and one use only, indoor self-defense.

I'm looking at the Bushnell TRS-25.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Similar to the Vortex, the Sig Romeo MSR is often on sale under $100. Seems to have decent battery life and is holding up so far on my KSG.

I recently bought some slugs to play with, but I haven't tried to use them with the red dot at the range.

I have a CVLIFE 1X22X33 Red Green Dot Gun Sight Scope Reflex Sight with 20mm Rail on my Norinco M37, it's worked out very well so far and quite inexpensive, $26 on Amazon.

I have Pintys on two others that I will probably be replacing fairly soon with CVLIFE, CVLIFE is higher quality at around the same price as Pinty.

The problem I have with this style of red dot is that the reticle washes out in the sun. I had a name brand (but cheaper) optic like the one you posted and it was useless outside if the sun was shining.

I actually prefer the tube type red dots for shotgun use. If the battery does go dead, it is really easy to still use the optic as a ghost ring. As far as reticles go, I prefer a circle dot reticle for shotgun use.

Just personal opinion, But I would not go cheap on an optic for a home defense/ self defense firearm. Those cheap Amazon optics might be perfectly fine for a hunting shotgun but I would not depend my life on one.

I've used mine outside in the sun and never had a problem. Heck I would depend my life on a sharp stick if I had to..........

I'm glad that your has worked for you. I will never use a cheap Amazon optic of this style ever again. They have proven to be unreliable.

I had a Meprolight that I'd got thinking it'd go great on my Tavor 5.56 bullbpup, but I hated it as the reticle was just too thick and bright. I find its about perfect for my SDS BLP M12.

But if I didn't already have it sitting wastefully on a shelf, probably doesn't make sense to pay that much for an dot optic on a ~$300 shotgun.
