Double vs single action

I would've gone further and said 22LR pistols aren't worth shooting on an indoor range. Too much work for so little a pop.
For the same reason I sold S&W 617 very soon after I purchased it, and went for GP100, 6". Yeah, when I pull the trigger on 357, something happen...

I wonder about the premise. IMO a 22 can provide some fundamental practice, as long as it is the same mechanics (DA v SA). However, when not doing your own reloading of customized ammo, a 22 does not prepare you for the flinch control and trigger discipline with store bought ammo in a 357. You can buy a lot of ammo for the price of a 22, or you can buy a nice enough reloading rig and supplies...my vote going for a Lee Classic Cast Turret press for that kind of volume and budget.

That is why I bought the same model in .22. Due to cost and availability of ammo, most shooting say 65% will be done in .22 and the rest in .357 and .38.
Due to my living situation I do not have a place to reload so I that is why I chose this path.

But, single actions are just plain FUN

Amen Brother!
I was at the range this afternoon with 2 single actions
1 - Traditions 44 Magnum
1 Ruger Single Six 32 H&R Magnum (shooting 32 ACP)

First time at the range since Sept 8th
(Fell outta my wheelchair, leaving the range, broke my shoulder)
Feltt good to have a gun in my hand again..

Man, be careful out there.

I put my Blackhawk to work today with a new load. Next time it will be a showdown between the 2 best. Seems fitting for a single action.

Glad you’re okay now. Be careful out there.
If you don’t have time to reload a single action revolver, you’re planning your life all wrong.

Be careful

Get out there and do it again.

Feel some recoil, that is. A day at the range is good therapy.
