Pull bullets, dump powder, resize to .308, trim and anneal. Sell bullets. Reuse powder in .308s or dump.

Most profit, least work= SELL THE AMMO.
$30-$35 per box is not uncommon. List it for $20. Somebody needs it.

You, sir, need a new 7x57 rifle.

308 brass is very common and easily had. 7x57 is not easy. You could easily get 2 for one in a trade. Hell loaded I'd trade 3 for 1.

Yes definately get a 7x57 rifle.

44 grains of 4350 with a 139 grain bullet is a very light load. Sadly, most of the 7x57 reloading data available in this country is anemic, which is prudent given some of the shaky WWII firearms that still exist. However, if you are using a firearm of good design in good operating order, there is no reason for such trepidation. The propellant gas can't read the headstamp. All it "knows" is the quantity and quality of brass and steel between it and the outside air. I have pressure measuring equipment, and usually load my 7x57 to the mid to upper 50 KPSI range (very conservative), and at that pressure, it becomes a superb performer.

So it's not entirely a joke that you might need a new 7x57 rifle.

48.3 grains H4350, 139 grain Hornady Interlock, 2800 FPS, low recoil load for my granddaughter.
48.5 grains H4350, 162 Hornady BTSP, 2732 FPS, 54 KPSI.
50.5 grains H4350, 150 NosBT, 2864 FPS, 56.6 KPSI

You could consider trading for 308 brass.

I used to make 7x57 brass form 3006. Was a Win M70 featherweight. Fantastic rifle. 7x57 works best w heavy bullets & slow powders.

Bought a 7x57 Mauser 96 for son, on this 13th birthday. Best groupings are with Hornady 139gr bullets and 4064 powder.

Btw, son is 45 and still uses that same 7x57

I certainly wouldn’t turn fairly rare 7x57 brass into .308 brass. I’m sure there are many people right here that would gladly trade you for whatever you need. Myself included.

The 308win shoulder is larger In diameter, requiring fire forming anyway.

As common as 308 is why bother reforming that into 308.
I hate converting cases from one caliber to another unless it can not be found.
I would either sell what you have and just buy your 308 cases or trade what you have for 308 cases.
Factory 308 ammunition is readily available at most retailers. 7x57 is not.
There are guys out there that need your lucky find.

For some reason people underestimate the 7x57. For 40 yrs. a 7x57 AI was my primary rifle. Elk, moose, deer, hogs, etc. here and 13 animals in Africa with it including kudu, gemsbok, and zebra. 52.0 gr. of IMR 4350 with a 140 gr. Nosler partition was the load for the improved version.

In other words, YES, you need a new 7x57 rifle.

My experience with 7×57 was in an old Spanish mouser. Dad traded it away but it was a neat little rifle and fun to shoot. Definitely not the latest and greatest hunting rifle but fun at the range.

I have a Ruger #1 I bought years ago (new) in 7mm Mauser. I have fired it fewer than 40 times. Can't find any brass at a reasonable price at all. Really like the little rifle.

Make it from .270 or .280 brass
Easy to find .270. I been doing it for 30 years.

It suddenly dawned on me I have two boxes of 257 Roberts +P brass I can re-size into 7X57...........age does slow the brain......
