You guys are gonna love to hate this commercially made "zip gun" in 9mm or .380...

I think I am in the minority here, but I wouldn’t mind one. Onion field gun when all else fails. This price is right for sure. I am just glad I live somewhere where I can buy one or buy something better. 9mm snake shot also come to mind as something that maybe useful to some people. I would definitely pass on a .223 one.

If it had a different trigger I'd be tempted to buy one.

I was just thinking I bought a hi point for less than that. Several years ago on a whim on Black Friday so I could judge for myself if they were junk or not. so I agree, if it were not for the trigger …

Got one last year during the drought, haven't had a chance to shoot it as of yet. Goofy but interesting.

The halibut fishermen/fisherwomen love these. They can lean over the board of their boat and safely fire one shot into the head of a large halibut without having the pistol chamber another round. These little pistols are much, much safer than having a glock in your hand while you're dealing with rough water, a thrashing fish, and other excited people. Plus, if this one falls into the Sound.....nobody cares.

Excellant on the farm too, when it's time to slaughter the sows.

They sell like hotcakes up here.

I had to look to see how big a halibut is. You learn something everyday. Here’s a photo I found, I still don’t like tarter sauce . upload_2021-12-9_9-56-42.jpeg

That's a lot of Sushi!

I still have a fish club from days past when I enjoyed fishing more. It hadn't occurred to me to use a 9mm/.380ACP when a .22Short/Long had always been enough for mud skippers. But our little lake bass and river trout around here are minnows compared to that monster.

GravelRider,
At a first glance, what you say would seem to be true. But when the barrel is twisted to the "safe" position the firing pin is locked or blocked from contacting the primer.

If I owned one it would be carried in “safe” for sure.

A twist of the barrel doesn't seem like a very safe safety to me. And even if it were bombproof, I still wouldn't want to carry a gun without a trigger guard. I just don't see the point in not including one. But, that's just my opinion, and it's worth as much as you paid for it.

Here is the complete email that I received,
Hello Jeff,
Thanks for your interest, but we have no plans to introduce a .38 caliber version since that would require a receiver re-design. We are just trying to keep up with the demand we have been getting for our existing products, but did introduce a threaded 9 MM version and an extended barrel version for sale in California.

We have complete prints and engineering files for a 5.56 NATO version since that cartridge would use the existing receiver. Just a barrel change. Maybe even 350 Legend someday?

If we do introduce new calibers, 5.56 NATO will be next.

Altor

Maybe I will email them about 45 GAP. Give them all something to laugh about at lunch break.

Well Altor took the “High Road” and didn’t make fun of me.

We don’t have any new calibers planned at the current time, however the most likely next caliber would be 5.56 NATO since it would use the existing receiver.

Thanks for your interest.

There are lots of guns I have no interest in. I have lots of guns others would likely have no interest in.

Choices are good. I've never gone to the hardware and scoffed at the 'unnecessary' variety of hammers. :)

Yup. Couldn't agree more.

Some 20 odd plus years ago when we moved out here to nowhere, there was some fixing up to do before the place was livable again. I drove around a bit and found THE hardware store. Walked in, chatted a spell, introduced myself, explained what was up and what I was needing, then wandered around and found most of what I needed, but i couldn't find one thing so I asked, probably louder than I should have, "Y'all carry duct tape?" All conversation stopped, every head swiveled in my direction, and one feller pointed to my right at a display of at least 40 different kinds and colors of duct tape. It was so BIG I missed it. If it was a bear it woulda already ate me. It took me no less than five minutes at least to find plain old silver aluminum foil original duct tape amongst all the Barbie pink and Flektar camo and cloth gray duct tapes...

You see, some folks just NEED extra wide, plastic-coated, double-sticky, desert camo duct tape. They maybe can't explain why - but they just DO. ;)

I bought an LCP in some weird blue camo color for somewhere between $150-$170, don’t remember. It is a superior firearm in every respect, and if someone wants a single shot they can simply load only one round in the magazine. While I support people buying any gun they choose, I think for most folks saving up a few extra bucks for a more “normal” gun would be a better option.
