My nephews 1187 was in a fire . He took it to a LGS to have it looked over and cleaned . This was 2 years ago . He hunted with it last season a few times and as you can see he didn’t clean or take very good care of his stuff . Everything is disposable to him , if it doesn’t work get a new one . I don’t understand this , because he is a mechanic and can fix things , if he wants to .

We were hunting last week and again this past Sunday and his gun wasn’t ejecting the shells . A couple of times you couldn’t even hardly pull the bolt open . I told him to give it to me and I would look at it before you buy another gun . I was disgusted when I disassembled it .

Now my question , without having a manual are the gas rings installed correctly for a 20 gauge 1187 ? I don’t think they are . 41AD25EE-CEBF-4081-998E-435D61F27E67.jpeg

No. The one on the right in the picture should be flipped around and fit down into the ring on the left.

My 11-87 12 gauge does not have that ring between the cone ring and the o-ring, but the first two on the left is the right orientation.

The 20ga is different and I don’t see any showing it on YouTube .
