SWMBO and I went to a favorite antique mall today, an old high school converted to an antique mall. I found a piece of Fiestaware she had missed walking through one of the rooms, and she was thankful. I found a knife, (not an antique, but nice for the price) that she bought for me.
It's a Damascus skinning knife, full tang, hollow ground, black horn scales, hollow riveted, with two solid pins up by the base of the blade.
It's not perfect, probably somebody's "practice" build I think it was worth $50, including the handmade sheath:

I like the feel, it has a good edge and heft.

I always keep on the lookout for fiesta pieces she might have missed when antiquing. 99 times out 100, she says, "Saw it." and then says why she passed on it. I noticed she hadn't even went over and looked at it, (a vintage #4 mixing bowl in Green), so I looked at it, and caught up with her in the next room and mentioned it. She went back and looked, and thanked me for pointing out to her. (Yes, she got it.)
I had noticed the knife before, (it was in a case right by the door) but figured she wouldn't be too keen on getting it for me. (I just bought 2000 Cheddite primers online, that used up my 'spending money' for the week, or I'd have grabbed it then) but I figured I'd mention it while we were waiting to check out. She said "Sure, get it!"

No. Most of the rest in that case we Rambo Special folders in 420 or 440C, your basic gun show junk. The horn is about 1mm smaller than the tang, so it's not top quality work, but I didn't buy it to stare at. I intend to use it. It stood out against the rest of the knives in the case. I figured it was a cheap damascus blade someone got online and tried their hand at horn for a grip.

Some makers think a tang reveal is a cool style feature. I have one or two that were clearly intentional on the part of the maker. Had I been able to discern that before purchase, there would have been no purchase. Your knife looks like a fun and unique piece.

You find a lot of interesting things at antique malls. I’ve found several knives over the years. That looks like a nice one.
