What are your reloading goals for 2022?

My goal is to find the reason and understanding for why my 223 reloads consistently will produce 4 rounds that are within 20/25fps of each other and then there will be one round that will be 80/100fps faster or slower than the others. Example of a recently fired string of 6 shots. 4 rounds within a few fps of each other at 2860fps. then one @ 2088fps and another at 2896fps... Could shoot many other strings of this same load with nearly the same results. This is not just only with this load as I am getting this with about all loads.

Redo my loading room. Right now I have a 6'x6' room and a 4' bench. I want to do a full length bench, probably a wrap around two walls.

Find and impliment a 200 grain mould for the flattop Blackhawk 44 especial. Figure out if I can get it to not lead. It leads minorly, after a box it's not bad but.... If I can't make it happen I'll switch to gas checked bullets exclusively and be done with the worry.

Convert some 44 special brass I large rifle and test that thoroughly.

Get dies to make my own gas checks. Figure that out.

Learn to powder coat, but I be danged if I'm going to give up my grease lube!

Got everything to load 380, including two moulds. Just got to get round to it.

Finally get a little ahead on what I got loaded. I shoot just bought as much as I load.

Get me a lee turret press and whoop butt on them empties.

My goals from 2021 doesn't leave me a lot for 2022. But the biggest one is to continue to keep my loading room neat, or neater.

Believe it or not I accomplished 2021's goals. And 2020's goals the year before.

I have a couple sets of gas check making dies from Pat Marlin. The ones I bought use aluminum soda cans are are designed for use on plain base bullets. They work well.

Pat Marlins make dies for conventional gas checks as well.

The only trouble is he is backlogged due to material shortages.

I ain't ever tried plain based checks. How do they do to control leading?

Happy New Year! Everyone

So I find as the year is winding down and the new one is set to begin it gives me a chance to reflect on this past year and what I got accomplished in the reloading space

So I ask you What are your reloading Goals for next year? As always one of my big ones is to stay organized and to keep stocking up on components
Great thread! I was reticent about responding, as I knew that if I did, I was committed...
1 - Be diligent and safe.
2 - Continue to pursue as much knowledge as my feeble mind can retain.
3 - Find a way to better organize my loading bench and storage areas. Organization/storage has not been able to keep up with the growth of my passion for the activity, or my stock of components.
4 - Develop the most accurate load possible for my .308 rifle at 750 yards (the limit of our range).
5 - Learn how to develop reduced loads for my .30-30.
6 - Commit to my shotgun loads. My skeet loads duplicate AA factory loads, but I continue to tinker with trap, sporting clays, and Annie Oakley. I know it isn't in my best interest, but tinkering is fun!

Related to reloading - I built a second AR lower receiver in 2021. I want to finish that rifle this year, which means I have to decide on the caliber and upper. Ease of loading and component availability will be a big part of that decision.

With limited resources, my reloading goals for 2022 include separating my 7.7 Arisaka brass by volume and loading the 174gr hpbt Hornadys by seating depth, then test them at 300 yards. I've also cast and aged and separated lead ingots from range scrap and intend to load pistol calibers by various bhn. Then, make a series of ladder tests for my 7RM. This should keep me busy besides left over test loads from 2021

FIND PRIMERS :-0 actually I need to add .243 win, 270 win, 30-06, .380 acp, & 250-3000 die sets to feed all the family habit. Maybe add a sonic cleaner and invest in a chrony… finish this AR and build three more. Finish my
Presicion build. That means 556 dies, 6mm arc dies, 300 blackout dies, 300 win mag dies, maybe 300 prc dies. get my safe set where it should go… wow haven’t started reloading yet. Haha.
I still have 800+ rounds of 9mm to get ready for my next tactical class. (Some are for my dad and brother) Have to work up a load for .308 that keeps my Dads 742 happy. I have to work up a “plinking” load for 357 mag. Never ends… but it’s exasperatingly enjoyable.

Get back into shooting and reloading. Took a break last year as I was doing a lot of work on the house and putting together a small woodshop. Trying to get everything set up for my coming (1-2 years) retirement. Still on the hunt for components that aren't ridiculously priced. Not having much luck with that.

stop buying stuff.
I'm moving to the country, which means I'll have to stop taking call (I am on call every other week, so 50% of the time), so will be taking a big cut in expendable income, so me too, kind of over did it this year though, leading up to that.

Gonna keep working on the range, add a few targets, and start adding barricades to shoot off of. I want to replicate the five NRL-22 stages to start.

Planning to re-organize my bench, expand my reload area for more space and maybe upgrade some equipment.
Also, hope to maybe shoot a little more this year assuming primers become a little more readily available.
