Ensure you don’t have grease or heavy oil coat on the buffer spring or tube. Clean it out and use a light coat of clp or some such to prevent rust only, it should not be “wet”.
Update to my issue. Sorry its been a while but moving and health issues have put me behind on some project’s.
I ended up replacing the extractor spring and decided I would measure the gas port hole on the barrel. It appeared to be undersized. I drilled it out to 5/64 and put it all back together. Took it out tonight and ran 30 rounds through it. No issues.
Majority of the rounds landed 2-3 ft slightly to the side and to my rear (. 5 o’clock).
So so far so good. The barrel did drill fairly easy and only a thin metal ribbon came out.
Thanks to all who offered help and sorry it to so long to finish up.
