Hello Everyone I am looking for a good set of Iron Sights for my AR-15. In the past i have used standard twin Aperture flip sights but i really dont like them. What I want is something like the Ramp Sight on the M1 Carbine (see link), Its very easy to use and offers a good sight picture. Does anyone know of something like that i can put on my rifle?

Second the Daniel Defense combo. I have one of their rear sights set up on an M&P sport, way better than the MBUS the gun came with.

I will third the DD sights. I have them on two rifles and they are great. They are not that hard to adjust and rock solid once they are set.

Having said that, a stand alone A2 type sight is easier to adjust and more along the lines of what you are looking for:

Actually after reading some more, the UTG Super Slim might be an option for you as well. Here is a review:

And it is stock here:

i have one of those and I’ll verify pleased with it.

I had a set of Troy Industries Fixed Battle Sights on one of my AR-15s. I really liked them for their simplicity and ruggedness.

Daniel Defense makes a non-folding rear and front combo that isnt exactly what you are looking for but it’s close-ish.

I’m sure the sight you want is a dovetail mounted one since it’s designed for the .30 Carbine. If you could somehow machine a dovetail mount on a short picatinny riser, it may work.

Stay safe.

Thanks for that link. I really like the looks of these sights. They appear to be shorter or lower than the standard AR sights.

They are not. The DD 1.5 is the same height as an A2 sight. This install has one with the standard fixed front sight post.

Height aside, it's a very minimalistic setup, and if I wanted a fixed sight option, I would have one. They also make a great spare in the toolbox... if your scope/sight gets damaged, it goes on in about 2 minutes.

You mentioned the Troy sights... I have the folding Troy sights on my lightweight carbine... I LOVE the Troys...

What function are you trying to gain with you sight over the A2 style? Sight picture? Mode of adjustment? Aesthetic? That will help guide

I am looking for a rear sight with adjustable elevation and windage without tools Preferably with some type of indicator showing how much its been adjusted either in MOA, specific ranges etc. for the front sight i want a basic barley corn style sight preferably with a high visibility dot or mark on the top of the center post. It would be nice if the front sight folded down and the rear sight was low profile to make it easier to use optics but that is not a requirement. I would like to spend under $100 but i would go over that for a really good set of sights or if they have a easy return policy.

Ultradyne, the rear is fairly typical, the front is an aperture which when used together with the rear aperture provides perhaps the most ideal iron sight combination of an aperture seen through an aperture, which the eye / mind tries to keep in best alignment.

So you’re looking for backup sights for a rifle that’s going to have a scope as a primary sight?

This means you’re looking at a folding rear most likely. A non folding model wouldn’t clear your ocular bell, so you’d have to mount too far forward for a normal eye relief scopes.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), you mostly get what you pay for.

Magpul Pro front and Pro LR rear would meet your requirements, but at a cost of about $200.

KAC rears are highly regarded folding range adjustable, but they cost about twice as much as the magpuls.

Having super nice backups for a high quality scope might not be the best way to spend your money if the budget is tight. Magpul mbus sights will do the trick if you’re looking at very rare/backup use.

hope it helps.
