Just a quick follow up!

After much debate, I have decided on the Colt King Cobra. I just picked it up about an hour ago. I have not fired it yet.

Fit and finish are superb. The finish is much smoother and more polished than ones that I have seen in the past. Trigger pull, smoothness, and break are exceptional. No "gritty" feeling and WAY smoother trigger pull than my last 3 new S&W's!
Good choice!

Congrats! You couldn’t have gone wrong with any of them, glad you put the suspense to bed and found what you like .

When you get a chance to hit the range let us know how it shoots for you. :)

Stay safe.

I'm a Ruger fan, especially of the LCR & LCRX but for a 3" .357,
I'll take my S&W M66 any day of the week. I assume a 3" M19
would be very much the same, flawless function. It weighs 36.3oz
loaded with 6 135gr .357 Gold Dot ammo.
I also have a M60-14 in 2 inch in that I'm pretty fond of.

I have 3" GP 100. If I can do it all over again I would get a 5" half lug GP 100 in 357 and a K6 DA/SA 3".

I have a 3" GP100 (Wiley Clapp) as well. I don't think that it has ever been shot! I just wanted something smaller and this Colt is exactly the size that I was looking for!

I may sell off the Wiley Clapp GP100 now that I have this Colt!

Mine is a Wiley Clapp as well. Main reason I keep it and after a lot of rounds it is really smooth. I just feel on a 357 Mag revolver that size, you lose balance and ballistics with the short barrel while not really gaining much since it is still a full size service revolver.

Amazing that a poll with the name "Kimber" is getting positive responses on a firearms forum. My, how the worm has turned!

We already knew the S&W fanboys own this forum.

Sadly, not enough King Cobra owners present to show up and make a dent in the poll, despite the fact that the new King Cobra has the best trigger in DA and SA, of the three choices.

I’m late to the party sorry lol. Imho the KC is the perfect carry gun. Easy on the hip inside or out. Lots of firepower. Good sights. Best trigger of any wheeler I’ve handled. Nice guns......good luck finding one!

Plus, I've had a 1/2 dozen or more SP101's. The lack of the 6th shot for its size was always a disappointment.

So you don't think five rounds is not enough, but six is :scrutiny: Maybe you need a 7,8,.....or a whatever rounder.

While I have carried 5 shot Smith Jframes, the Ruger LCR, and the old discontinued Taurus model 85, I agree with @Mr. Tettnanger. Why settle for a 5 rounder in a revolver the size of the SP101 when you can get an extra round with a K frame, Colt, Kimber, and even the newer Tauruses in the same size or smaller package? Not only that, the fit and finish and trigger is better with the S&W, Colt, and Kimber offerings.

Ruger needs to introduce an SP101+ to compete in the current market. Should not be hard to do.

I don't see a big problem with a five shooter having 3. Of course I have carried 2 handguns instead of a reload or high capacity gun.

I would like to get a 8 shot N frame 357 someday. Great bedside and range gun. Not sure what it will do better than my 7 shot L frame. But I like revolvers

After owning a 5 shot revolver for some time, and practicing with that gun and others, at some point I started counting capacity in double taps. So, a 5-shot revolver has 2.5 double taps, while a 6 shooter has 3 double taps, and autoloaders increase on that number further.

That's just me when dealing with defense handguns. Non-defense handgun capacities aren't considered in the same way by me.

S&W Carry Comp I'd choose.... But until I have enough cash and the availability of the S&W Mod 19 Carry Comp which I picked in the poll and would really like to have, currently I own this 3" Taurus 692 which is a 7 shot with a 9mm convertible cylinder to boot. The best built, bank vault tight lock up, excellent fit and finish Taurus revolver I've owned, and over the years I had a lot of them. This is one I'm really glad I took a chance on...Not in your list of higher quality choices, but for the money this one would be hard to beat.
