Alright folks ,we're almost half way through January and I know damn well we've all bought a gun and hidden from someone we're afraid of. I'll go first: IMG_20220113_185657259.jpg
No idea what it was, but I thought it was worth the gamble. Paid 108$ OTD for everything in the picture.

Now know it's some Italian pocket pistol in .22.

Now show us yours.

That's a Galesi Brescia if I am not mistaken. Have not seen one since I left Italy. You stole it at $108.00 congrats. That's easily a $300 pistol without the leather and the ammo ... a Model 506 maybe? Definitely not a -B (dash Bravo). Shorter barrel, manufactured in the 20s and 30s.

I'm saving up for another SIG in February.

Yup Galesi......Nice pistols. I have a 25acp one. You did good. I dont see the 22s very often. Galesis used to be cheap until the last few years. They pretty much stopped bringing them in in 68. American produced Sterlings are pretty close copies but kind of rough compared to the Galesi pistols.

Yeah, the Sterlings, Davis Industries, Lorcin ... they all tried to compete with the Galesis and failed monumentally. The Saturday Night Special Act in '68 pretty much killed the Galesi imports except for the ones GIs and Sailors brought back from Italy through the 70s, 80s and 90s. But the Galesis are far superior imho. I paid $41 American for two of them over the counter out the door in Vicenza in 1983 (exchange rate was Lire 2000 to the dollar at the time and always regretted not buying more because I was throwing everything I had at over and under Berettas at the time on E-6P pay and a family.) If I had invested more money on the Stoli Vodka, the Mak 9s and the Galesis back then I would have made enough money by retirement from the Army Airborne ... hindsight is sooooo 20-20.

Those little Galesis are quality. Start looking for magazines now OP. It may take your entire life to find another one.

You literally stole it. Just think, some pawn shop or small gun store probably paid someone $50 bucks for that little pistol. Or either someone you know didn't know what they had.

Love it when someone on the forum scores like that. You've got a very nice little ankle handmedown right there. Major score. There's probably been more Camorra in Napoli popped in the back of the nugget with one of those than the Beretta 32. And everyone owned a Beretta 32 in Italy after they found out Bond carried one. But the Camorra loved those Galesis. When I retired and Finn Mechanica sent my wife to Napoli .... I don't know how many times I read in the cronaca e notizie da Napoli that a Galesis was found at the scene or ballistics said it was fired from a Galesis. But everyone had pne so ... who cared? It was like a running joke and we were back and forth there well into the 2000s while she was still with Ansaldo. I think the last time we were there for any length of time was 2012 ... but I think they had gone out of business some years earlier in the 90s after the Carbs dirtied their name because of their use in crimes. One of the sons, a Rigarmi maybe, one of his kids worked with my wife, I think he tried getting them going again and may still be manufacturing them over there, I'm not sure, I can call and find out. I don't think he uses the old Company Arms logo but maybe he does. I know quite a few of the family members went to work for Beretta.

I'm jealous. I should have bought boxes of those things back in the day and sent them back stuffed in my household goods with the Mak 9s and Beretta shotguns.

I started researching, and they're apparently neat little guns. I have no way of telling what model it actually is as I don't see anything on it but the brand, but it's chambered in .22 long according to the munition boxes it came with. It's definitely not LR, and definitely not Short. Not sure if I'll ever find ammo for it in this climate.

So I lucked out huh? And to think I paid 20$ in coins.

Well, I hope we all find cool little things.

CCI still makes it but you have to check all the time to catch it. I never see it on the shelf anymore

You might want to check the differences between Match and LR. The Match cases are a little shorter ... or lemme think for a moment. Maybe I am thinking about the Stingers vs Match. I can't remember. One of the guys here will help me. One of those works great in those things.

As hard as it is to find 22long..... Its not any easier to find 25acp lately. Silly times we live in.

Sorry to disappoint, but January had me paying off my cmas to me scope, which I managed to do with no interest because I normally stay ahead of the curve on my CC bill.

I would like to have a P320, or a P365X, but it won’t be soon.

Looking forward to your range report. Everyone is claiming they're going to put the Shield out of business. I've been carrying Shields for several years now ... just got a Plus recently. What's the capacity on the CSX, 10+1 is it? Also heard they were going to offer it in some new 30 super carry caliber or something.

That's the beauty of the P320 Brother. Get on that waiting list for the Fire Control Unit now, about $350.00, then piece the rest of it together over time. Or you can do it in reverse. Slide, frame, barrel, etc., and finish with the FCU. It's almost like buying one on layaway walkalong.

I hope you'll give us a range report soon.

Yeah that's what I was thinking Spats. Steel framed DA/SA with a hammer! I've been missing hammers.

Got 2 ar15 lowers, nothing fancy.

So PSA has some really good deals going-on with their blemish lowers right now. They're selling three packs both logo stamped and the ones without the logos. My Son and I just, both of us, picked-up a 3-pack each over the weekend. He got lucky and got consecutive serial numbers ... mine were not but close. And the beauty of PSA's blems are that they are rarely actually blemmed ... or maybe they are we just have a hard time finding the blems and they always go-together like butter. We picked ours up at the local main store showroom. Ordered them online through the Daily Deals, three for $140 I think it was, both versions, (they didn't charge us shipping because we pick them up at the showroom as they are our local FFL), and they had emailed us in three days letting us know they were ready to be picked-up. Now we're shopping parts kits.

Life is goooood.

Or do what i did, I bought a P320c for 399.99 and used the chassis, and now i have a P320c kit. Could also sell it and use it to fund what you want.

No idea what 2022 will bring. I do want a Colt Series 70 in 9mm. I am also looking around for another 3" 1911 type 45 ACP. Have a Kimber in 3" and have become fond of it. None of my gun purchases are really planned. More a matter of wander into a gun store and if I see something that trips my trigger I buy it, within reason.

I'm probably going to wait until my wife gets over the shock of my credit card bill from last month. I've spent my money on reloading components to feed my toys so far in 2022. When I do buy another gun it will most likely be an old blued S&W revolver(3 or 4")in a caliber that won't aggravate my arthritis and be found browsing in a small LGS.

Now you said "gun" not "firearm" so here is my first gun of 2022! Both are Berettas.

It’s January 14 today… and I have 5 new ones that came home within the past week or are in the penalty box awaiting the 10 days to pass before they come home.

The mini-14 I posted about buying for $360 bucks last week rode home with a new Glock 48 9mm. That was another gun with a price that I just couldn’t say no to.

Awaiting release within the next couple of days is a GP 100 4.2” .357, a No. 1 .223 and a factory Gen 3 Glock 19 frame that I’ll assemble with a pretty cool looking Bottomland camo upper.

This will probably be it for a while. I finally picked up the first of two Christmas motorcycles I ordered for the kids, I ordered them around Thanksgiving and one literally just came in on Wednesday. The other, probably not until March. So, any extra cash to spend on guns will be pretty thin until I pay these off. :(

Stay safe.

CCI Stingers have a slightly elongated case with a smaller-lighter than standard bullet, so the loaded cartridge has a similar OAL to standard or high velocity .22 LR cartridges.

Stay safe.
