Like I mentioned above, it isn’t the diameter or the case length. It was two very influential humans that turned me off of the “odd caliber bullet”.
One shot goats out west where most people don’t live, the other could not have a nice thread about any other caliber, or model of rifle, beside the .270 Winchester model 70.
Both of these things are now dead to me.

The fastest thirty caliber bullet ever to miss a paper target.
The most finely crafted, weather resistant rifle, much too fragile to hunt with.
The most destructive, abdomen exploding, don’t bother trying to eat that one, cartridge any Michigander has ever Texas heart shot a deer with.
Why, it’s so good, you can hunt your neighbors property with it.
