Last weekend I picked up a Bergara BMR steel at an LGS
It comes with a 5 and 10 round mag, and out of the box the trigger breaks right at 2.5lbs with zero creep.
I mounted a Leupold VX-2 6-18x40 and added a Victor Company cheek rest.

I got everything together over the past week to take it shooting this morning.

The weather at the range this morning was 39*, cloudy, with the wind at 10-12mph and gusty coming in from around my 9 o'clock
I shot a little at 25 yards on A-7/5 targets and at 50 yards on Redfield targets. 5 shot groups on each target. I was shooting from a bench with a Lyman match bag in the front and a Midway squeeze bag in the rear.

Eley Match, Tenex, and Team were all pretty tight at 25 on the A-7/5, with the Match showing a distinct advantage.Tenex opened up and did not really do that well at 50, about the same as CCI standard, and for some reason I didn't shoot the Team at 50. Of the ammo I tried, Eley Match black box shot the best. Shot a .32" and .34" group with it at 50 yards.

The bolt was a little rough closing at times, gonna clean it up and polish it a bit. Seems to be a common complaint on these.
I still have a few more ammo types to try, hopefully we'll get some decent weather soon to play around some more.
Either way, really fun gun to shoot, and it looks promising accuracy wise.

Nice looking rifle that shoots. What is the street price on those? I haven't seen one in person. I have a Tikka T1 that is pretty comparable accuracy wise, but that doesn't mean I might not be interested in trying another.

They had it priced in the shop at $549, but listed on GB for $499. $499 is what I got it for.
They had the Carbon barrel version for $599.

That’s a nice rig. I’d say it’s at least equivalent to my CZ which cost at least that much maybe 6-7 years ago. That’s impressive particularly fighting a direct crosswind.

When guys say “my .22 is really accurate”, that’s what I’m expecting to see. Good choice on the scope too. You can only shoot as well as you can see. To me, it doesn’t make sense to put an expensive scope on a deer rifle that may see ten rounds a year st the most but put a $69 4x scope on a .22 that gets used all year

Congratulations on a really nice rifle

Interesting and timely post. I recently purchased a BMR Steel as well, and some Eley Match too. Your excellent results give me confidence that I made a good decision, v8stang289. Delivery is a couple of weeks out. My Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope isn't as nice as yours, but my setup should make for an excellent lightweight squirrel gun. I've not been interested in suppressors, but this Bergara has me reconsidering this.
BTW, I was surprised that the Eley Match outshot Tenex!
