Has anyone recently dealt with Ruger customer service turnaround times for gun work sent in? What was the turnaround time? Planning a trip soon and just sent a gun off. If it’ll be weeks/months like most places I’d like to know to better plan. Thanks!

Same, within two weeks there and back for all three Ruger products I have sent back in the last three years. (Last was for a stripped nose cap screw on a 10/22 International that I sent back in July of 2020.)

Stay safe.

It was about two weeks for me. Nothing needed to be diagnosed -- it was just a case of replacing a damaged rear sight. They were pretty good about, given that it wasn't their fault. It was a brand new pistol, purchased online, and the sight got damaged in shipment.

The turn around time could be a longer due to the Christmas and New Years holidays. With the time off for employees they can get backed up.

A couple of years ago I sent in a gun right after Memorial Day, and it took about 3 weeks or so

A couple months ago, called with a problem, within an hour had the return label for Fed-Ex emailed to me, shipped out, repaired and returned in about 10 days... maybe a day or so less. Great service basically replaced recoil spring, repair/replace slide stop and solved last round hold open function.

this is so much better than smith and wesson. bought my 617 12/10 . it was out of time and with light primer strikes. sent back 12/17 and received by 12/21. called for ff up 1/7 and was told 6 to 8 weeks starting New Year due to the Christmas break.

So fast you will not believe it! I RECENTLY had to send back a new revolver. Took maybe two weeks round trip!
Then something else was wrong sent it back again, same turn around. Plus the pay all shipping. Send you a UPS or Fed ex pick up!

Ruger is awesome!:)

I don't remember having to send something back to Ruger. Dealing with various companies over the years, I think my experience ranges from a week to 3 months.

Sent a security six I bought used back last Thursday (1-6). It's being delivered back to me tomorrow (1-14).

Few months ago I sent back a SP101 that has horrible chatter marks in the bbl and very rough finish on the frame. Had it back in under 2 weeks with new bbl and the frame polished. Their customer service is great and fast, cause they sure get enough practice at it.

Sent back my brand new Springfield Armory XD-M Elite OSP 10mm 3.8" on December 6th. They said 2-4 weeks. Now officially 5 weeks and no gun. Not even shipped. Frame had imperfections due to mold issues. All they had to do was send me a new frame without the issues. Fail.

Sent my new M&P40 back to S&W for FTE issues in 2007 and got it back in two weeks. Has been flawless since. Sent in a new Shield PC 9mm model with a bulged barrel and it took 2 months to get it back. And, the new barrel had a damaged crown. Sold it and swore of S&W since.

In 2020 my model 48-3 took S&W 6 months to repair (July to December), after waiting three months (March to July) just for the OK to send it in.

I truly hope they’re quicker for you .

Stay safe.

it is ridiculous how they send out a gun that should not have left the factory out to be sold. get paid for it and then take several months to do what should have been done before the gun left the factory. If the gun was damaged in the course of use i would be more understanding of the long wait times.

LOL, must be past my bed time. To this point my thought was, “no kidding, 4 years!”

I sent Ruger my Single Six back To be retimed (action worn out of time), and my 77Mk11.308 back to be rebarreled. I got them both back in less than a month. No charge for either one. Awesome cust. service

Took about 2.5 weeks for my turnaround. I was happy.
