Does anyone have any experience with the Trijicon SRO? Is it worth the price difference from the RMR? I like the idea of the top loading battery but wondered if there's any other differences.

They are intended for different uses. SRO isn't considered a duty optic. Basically it's more fragile so not really intended to replace the RMR for a carry pistol. I like the sro it's a nice optic with large window. If it's a pistol for carry though I would look at a Holosun 508T or 507c if you want a little larger window. Personally I like either of those better then an RMR. The RMR is a tough sight, but between the small window, dark tinted glass and having to remove the sight to change the battery it's on the bottom of my list between the ones I mentioned.
In the picture, SRO, 507c, 508t, RMR type 2, 507k 20211028_215751.jpg

8ball covered it but the SRO and RMR are very different in intended use. The SRO is not intended or durable enough for hard use, duty, military applications, etc. the SRO is basically for competition or range use and won’t stand up to dropping your gun on the sight etc. for a serious use gun go with the RMR or Holosun options 8ball mentioned. Or the aimpoint ACRO

The field of view and ability to pick up the dot is a lot better for me than the RMR. It's larger. I bought two and one of them stopped working in less than 100 rounds (pistol). Trijicon replaced it no questions.

I like the RMR, not sure about the SRO. A couple of friends use SROs in USPSA, one failed after a month and the other suffered a cracked lens in the middle of a match attached to an STI Omni. He bought a Deltapoint when he shipped the SRO back, and I decided to try one too.

Couldn't be more pleased, it seems very durable.
