Can’t find one of them in stock at the usual spots. Mine broke first time I shot it after doing some restoration. Are there places that will make me one? Or should I break out the files and other tools? Want to give this to my dad. He had one growing up.

I emailed them. No can do. So anyone out there with the ability to make me one? I am aware of the pricing of doing business. Thanks.

I am afraid that seems to be the only option right now. I might buy a second rifles and use or sell this one for parts. It’s not like vintage Mossbergs are expensive to collect. Putting back together a Model 46M right now that Gunny gave me last August. To say rough would be an understatement. But it’s cleaning up nicely. Maybe someone here would build me the part? Who knows.

Were it me, I would just fabricate the part from a good piece of steel and be done with it. I would rough size the blank, drill/ream the pin hole, and finish the contours based off the hole location, leaving the bearing surfaces a little bit oversized for final fitting. It would make for a relaxing afternoon job.

Good point BBBill. What type of metal would you start with for the blank? Heading out of town a week from tomorrow. Be in Munich for a week. Then home for a week and then in DC for two weeks. Would like to get started but sometimes circumstances overtake.

I was told once that Jack First had machinests that could make parts if they had a pattern. Don't know if this is true or not but worth a phone call to see.

Twas me,,,I'd grab a piece of OCS and go to town. If you don't get it hot grinding to shape, you might not even need to re-heat treat it. But it will be hardenable if you need to.

OCS= Old Car Spring.

Don’t have any of that laying around. Anything I use I would have to acquire. See what I can find when I get back from Germany. No idea how I would heat treat something. Sure I can figure that out too.

The part arrived today. It was just want I needed with a few extra parts included. I posted about this rifle a couple years ago.

That post is closed. I did note in the post that it didn't work well when I tried it out. It didn't work because the sear broke in half. Assembling now. Glad to get it back together for another try. Even though it took a couple years. Keep in mind that I travel 40% of the time. Sometimes I am just not home to work on things.
