Multiple ammo brands for different guns?

…Simple curiosity question: do members of the community use different brands of ammo on a regular basis (depending on the gun and/or caliber), or the same brand across the board?…Thoughts?

Do I use different brands of ammunition?

Absolutely not. I handload. I use one standard load for each cartridge. For example, I have several 45 ACP revolvers. My load for that cartridge is the SAECO 453 (235 grain cast dewc), cast slightly hard over a load of Bullseye sufficient to achieve hardball velocity. If that load does not work in a new revolver, that revolver goes down the road unless it is to rare to part with.

I'm a diehard rimfire guy, so I have multiple varieties of .22s. But it mostly boils down to subsonic vs supersonic.

I also prefer whatever ammo is accurate out of that specific firearm.

That won't stop me from buying "bulk" ammo if the price is right... but that is rarely.

For training ammo, I get what I can that will function in the gun I will be firing it through. I have guns in every caliber that I use that will pretty much eat anything, regardless of "quality".
This is my situation. When I get into long range or precision shooting, I’m sure this will change. But as long as I can ring an 8” plate at 300 yards I’m good. For pistols, I shoot sub 2” at 15 yards from a rest I’m good. Most factory will do that.
