Was able to put 250 rounds through it today at the range. Very impressed! I can tell a difference in recoil and weight right off the bat. And oddly enough, the trigger feels different from my old 365. It’s a tad heavier and not as mushy or have a lot of take up. Scared to put my flat trigger in it on, hope it still feels the same weight wise.

Pros:
1) Lesser recoil. My hands normally hurt after just 50 rounds with a small pistol, damage and RA is starting to take its toll. Mine didn’t hurt at all shooting the 365/380. And it didn’t move around in my grip, even without a death grip. Double taps were automatic. One big problem I had with my old 365 in 9mm was it just moved around due to the small grip. I had to choke it hard to stay put and I cause many malfunctions, like locking the slide back or dropping mags. The 380 chambering seems to stopped that for me.
2) Lighter weight. I pocket carry mostly, like 90% of the time. Weight is a limiting factor for me. The G42 was about the heaviest pistol I can pocket carry. The 365/380 is just couple ounces heavier and I think it’s very doable. The old 365 is too heavy for me and shorts.
3) Very accurate. This isn’t just a “get off me” pistol. I’m getting great groups at 10 and 15 yards. Keeping everything in the “T” area of the head area. Very natural pointer for me. Even better than my G42. I will take it out to 20 and 25 yards when better sights and the 407k gets here.
4) Optics ready! Have a green 407K V2 on the way. Old damaged eyes need help. Plus, the back sight remains on the 380 version.
5) Quality built! Doesn’t fill like most 380 pistols. This is a proven design, after some birthing pains, and it’s built to last. No cheap feel to it.

Cons:
1) Sights. I’m not a fan of the Sig sights on theses. It’s a personal thing, my eyes don’t like rear and front sights the same color and shape. I like blacked out sights, grew up shooting target K Frames. Will be getting some Defoors or another all black out set.Especially if I’m going to pocket carry one of these. Will leave the RDS and XL grip module on another for belt carry.

‘Overall, I’m tickled with my new 365/380. Will put it up against my G42 soon.

Not sure the .380 iteration is enough better than a G42; mine has served long and well, runs all the time.
Have the 9mm version, which I'm able to pocket and shoot really well, and love that it's in a service caliber.
But hey, SIG makes good stuff.

I figured it up, ad it weights 18.56 ounces with 11 rounds.
For comparison:
1) 642 with 5 RDS 125 JHP is 16.9 ounces
2) LCP MAX with 11rds is 14.46 ounces
3) G42 with 8rds (and Magguts) is 16.8 ounces

Wonder why they couldn't up the capacity?

I know with pocket carry you venture into the realm of diminishing returns but with 380s being being smaller and lighter 12 standard (lcp Max) would be nice.

I like a non blow back 380. The 9mm 365 didn't work for me, I wasn't as accurate with it as I was an lc9 or hellcat and for some reason my finger meat kept getting pinched.

Weird quirks you could probably train out but you'd never know until you get a few hundred rounds down range.

My pocket needs could be met by an ec9/642/naa mini I think, and so much money saved!

I also really likes the p238 and p938, both of ours have had no extraction issues. 938 did launch it's guide rod down range, that was neat.

Maybe a feature? Take this 124 gr HP and also a steel guide rod to the face! Wish these were one piece parts. I used the good loctite.

Sig is finally doing well by these P365s. Rocky start and upgrades along the way, but all is better now. I put a flat trigger in my two OR 380s and noticed the FCU parts seem beefier and a better build than the ones I messed with in 2018/19.

Is it better than the G42? Ask 100 people and you will get 100 different answers. For me, when I first saw and shot the P356in 2018 I always felt it was a good platform for the 380. It answered all of what I was asking for in a 380. I wanted a quality pistol, not some cheapo Saturday night special. I wanted a weapon I could manipulate easy. I wanted an accurate weapon. And I wanted something I would carry 24/7. If forced, the G42 did those things. But I had to add a Hogue grip and an aftermarket trigger plus some decent sights. I shoot the P356 better, so that is why I choose it.

My wife is interested in the 380 365, I am too. She wants the manual safety, which isn't out yet, but I think it'll be worth the wait. I still have a regular 365 9, and an X, but I bet I could rapid fire the 380 much, much easier.

Like half moon said, the manual safety is an add on and is out now.
You can get it in a kit with a grip module https://osagecountyguns.com/sig-sauer-kit-365-safety-conv-grip-coy.html
Or just buy itself and just get a jig to cut your grip module.

And yes you can! It’s like, cheating!

Dressed up the P365 OR 380 today. Still able to draw from pocket of my old man khakis with the XL grip module on it. With the added grip, it’s like cheating!
So SIG is making .380 P365 mags in XL size now? That's good news. Last time I checked their website, I couldn't find any.

Now all I'd need is a 10-round P365 .380 XL mag. I live in one of those states.

Not worth the added expense when the model with safety costs exactly the same.

‘Except the 365 OR 380 doesn’t come with a safety at this time. It took Sig awhile to bring the 9mm version out with a safety. So it’s worth it to those that want a safety for there new 380 version.

you can use ten round mags with an adapter from Tactical Decision.

I purchased two of these to try out and they work great. Kept them on for range mags. Fits flush like the originals.

Great write up Lefty. Glad there no real surprises.

Thank you, I am still amazed at this little pistol daily. It carries like a much smaller pistol and shoots like a larger one. I see it as a great option for those that physically can’t not take the recoil of the 365 or just want it due the lighter weight and light recoil. And on a side note, I like what they finally did to beef up the 9mm version of the 365, added a heavier recoil assembly. Went to the range again yesterday and the RO and some staff wanted to compare the 380 to the 9mm side by side. Weight and recoil difference was but very noticeable by those that shoot them side by side. Lots of folks have no problem with the 9mm version, and it’s still the one I like a lot. Took four years for Sig to come around, but some of us and still waiting on Glock too! LOL But those that can’t, Sig did a service and listened and is taking a chance by offering it in 380. And there seems to be a lot of folks that like them too. Four gunshots I went too was sold out of them. One chain of six stores within 1/1.5 hours from me had a total of 250 sold between those stores in four days. As one employee stated,”there are lots of grandpas and grandmas packing now!” LOL I was able to snag my second one due to that one being meant to go to the range for rentals but I had cash in hand and was there at the right time.

‘Biggest drawback is ammo price. I dropped $150 yesterday, but it’s my only vice that my wife’s allows me to have and my litter of pups are selling good. So all is good. I do most of my training with a laser system anyways.

Yeah, I'd seen 380 ammo selling for the same price as 10mm which is crazy. I bought a set of 380 ACP dies when they announced the 380 365 and the wife expressed interest. I have a couple of 380s already, but never loaded it. The local indoor range sells empty brass and I picked up a couple bags of casings and started testing with one of my Colt Pocketlite Mustangs, so she should be good to go whenever she gets one.

Funny, she put a hundred rounds through my 365X yesterday and didn't think it was snappy at all.

Good! Nothing wrong with the 9mm version if you can shoot it. Safe money while you can. LOL

I still want a .380 version, have been hearing it's a joy to shoot. :) Am kinda bummed it doesn't have the X Ray sights, I really like them.

@CNobbe
Me too! If I was wanting to have to buy a set of good sights for a pistol, I would have gotten a Glock! LOL
I ended up getting a set of Dawson FO set for my pocket carry.
