Designs You Would Like To Make A Comeback

I'd like to see the Sig P-232 make a comeback. I think it's arguably the prettiest little pistol I own, and it shoots extremely well, too. I don't know why they stopped. Makes no sense.

One of my few regrets in the gun world is that I didn't pick one of these up when I had the chance. I know they can still be found but in today's prices I can't justify it.

For me it's the Sig P227, but I'd want it all steel, adn chambered in 10mm.

I heard Ian talk up the Lugerman's new-production Lugers. According to him, they work well, quite unlike the previous reproductions. And, they come in .45 and 10mm, which also work. I was chomping at the bit for a long time about those guns, but what's stopping me really is that I already have a couple of guns that I'd like to shoot more and I just don't.

If Lugerman made a gun in the format of Erma KGP-68A, but cast his magic and made it properly recoil operated and reliable, I would probably buy it. Really what's stopping me from getting the original KGP-68A is its poor reliability and the blowback operation.

In a similar vein, if someone made a reproduction Fromer Stop, I'd definitely look into that, if it were a good quality reproduction. But I could only put down $3000 for one of those, so I dunno how realistic it is. Lugerman's guns start at something like $5k and only go up.

One last gun I'd like to see is Schwarzlose 1898. Again according to Ian it's potentially an outstanding gun. But unfortunately they don't have the cachet of a Luger. They also share a safety flaw with Mauser C-96: if anything goes bad with locking lugs, bolt flies out the back. But thousands of people enjoy their Broomhandles, and I don't consider Schwarzlose any different.

A couple that I would like to see S&W reintroduce would be the model 39, 9mm and model 52, 38 Spl. I suspect that they would not be in high demand so I don’t see it happening.

I would like S&W to formally reintroduce their 3rd Gen line. I think it sad that one of America's preeminent firearm manufacturers does not offer a metal framed, DA\SA pistol.

I wanted one of these for a long time. I have never actually seen one or handled one. It always seemed that whenever I asked about them at gun stores and gun shows I always got the same response, “We had one but sold it just a few days ago…” Then Sig discontinued them in 2015, I think.
Funny thing is the P232 is still on the California Handgun Roster. The only way these guns stay on the Roster is Sig Sauer has to renew them annually and pay a fee to do so.
It has been my hope they do this because perhaps at some point they will manufacture them again.

I want to see ridiculously tiny semi auto pistols again, like the 2mm Kolibri! I know it's completely impractical as a defensive tool, but I just think tiny guns are awesome and would make a fun range toy.

I already own the smallest handgun currently on the market, an NAA 22Short. I enjoy shooting this little thing a lot; just the other day I put a full 200 rounds through it! The novelty never wears off for me... then again I am easily amused. :D

Star PD

Browning HP, 1950s version, polished and blued, ring hammer, internal extractor. Best looking duty grade pistol ever imo.

The P227 was on my to-do list, but I never got around to getting one before they were discontinued. I never shot the P227, just fondled a few at gun shows, but the P226 fits me like a glove and the idea of a double-stack 45 in basically the same form factor always appealed to me. Did they ever make the P227 in 10mm?

Nope, they didn’t.

DAO autoloaders of all kinds and the S&W 242 and 332

Sign me up for a pre-1960 Smith K-32 Masterpiece!! The original Model16...but this time make it with a 4" NON-FULL LUGGED bbl. I'd actually settle (and maybe might even prefer the much lamented M16-4 but without the full lug and in .32 H&R!!)
Best regards, Rod (It'd look like this M-18 .22 but in .32 H&R.

Since Old guys are forced out of retirement and back to work, then get the Smith and Wesson revolver guys back from the days of the pinned-barrel, recessed cylinders, hand polishing and hot-bluing.
Get whatever robot that makes the new ones ON OUTTA THERE!!!

Update to my own thread, heh. I want a return of the classic vest pocket pistols... Colt 1908, etc; and a few overseas designs ... CZ45, etc.

Walther tph 22lr
Walther ppk/ pp but in 32 acp
Actually, wouldn't mind a pp/ppk in 22lr made of actual steel not the umarex zinc mess

No lock Sw revolvers as a standard option for any model

Glock return to tool steel from mim

Sig p232
Mateba revolvers

Baby eagle in brushed chrome 9mm
Springfield stainless GI 1911

Ruger p95

Broom handle Mauser

Side loading mini revolvers

Always wanted to see a locked breach design in the look of the ppk/p232.

Just my own pet peeve but I'd like a return to stainless parts on stainless guns, vs polymer. Can't stomach a new 92fs inox with the polymer guide rod black hammer poly trigger etc. Bersa also has gone polymer on their nickle thunder model.

Don't think anything ever fit my hand like a p6 beat to hell p225 surplus I handled. 300 many years ago almost no finish so I passed it up. Love a new one with a stainless slide.

It'd be cool to see a Renaissance in the 32 acp, many good loads nowadays and low recoil. Ppk is a dream and shoots like a Lazer in this chambering.
I am all for the 32 ACP coming back but could it be that the new 30 Super Carry is an improvement on the 32 ACP that we 32 ACP fans should embrace? It does seem to outperform 32 ACP.

Other that that, I would love to see more top break revolvers.
