Survivalists in Oregon vacuum-pack the metal parts after adding a desiccant pack or two.
Wood (if any) just gets a coat of wax, then everything goes into the PVC tubes.
Bury vertically, with the top about three feet down.
Then, at about a foot and a half down, bury a Mason jar with a couple of hundred bucks in coins.
Most searchers with metal detectors will get as far as the money cache and then stop... .
I hit a cache of coins I'd be back to the dig with a piece of heavy equipment as a full weir system.

Nitrogen can be easier to source, and you'll be less tempted to buy welding stuff with the "gun" money . . .

You might be a gun nut if you measure PVC prices in boxes of ammo--as a ratio of quantity of boxes over price of boxes . . .

Funny, ‘cause I’ve woke at 3:57 AM several times in the last couple years. Freaked me out a bit and made me wonder if it didn’t have some deeper significance.
