If you could have just one pistol chambered in 45 ACP, which would you choose?

Do not overthink this. You have the rest of your collection and can buy other guns. Whatever the situation is, you can have just one pistol in 45 ACP. That means you could build a P320 in 45 with various slides and grip modules, trade with friends, or sell it off and buy another.

Assume that the limit is not legal, but for some sort of personal reason such as being a diehard 357 Magnum fan keeping a little bit of sin on the side in secret.

Some days, the NHC Enforcer wins; others it's my Glock 21. Then there is the P220 that keeps popping up...

The G21 has the advantage over all others in that I know how to fix common problems.

Another vote for the 1911. I have several. If limited to one, it would be the Kimber Lightweight. Was on sale for $700 and feeds everything from ball to my LSWC reloads. Not a fancy pistol but I'm impressed. The only thing I don't like is the front slide serrations.
